no, I was making a joke about how you can’t break a key if you don’t play mythic. I don’t play mythic so I don’t break keys. If I directly at you or mention your name, then I’m coming for you.
The only people complaining about keys deranking are people that are doing keys they know they shouldnt be
my friend never cries about her key gong down she just like aw man that sucks oh well then moves on and keeps going
i hate to burst your bubble but dps are a dime a dozen. its not to say we want to see people quit but there are ALOT of dps players.

I should have specified (that’s on me). I was more talking about a not completed key. I think if a key isn’t completed it shouldn’t deplete, but if it is completed and not timed then depletion is fine because you still get loot and vault credit.
This only works if you’re a:
Prot Paladin/Prot Warrior
Disc Priest
Enhancement Shaman
Aug Evoker
Frost DK
everyone else is not going to get the invite.
yes, and you get 0 loot while you’re doing it. not even vault credit.
whereas in m+ you can fail key after key and still get loot, crests and vault credit.
That’s failing to time the key, not failing to clear the dungeon.
Failing is the repercussion for failure.
Poor performing players would be replaced after a single pull, because why waste time with them?
people do this with pug raids all the time - did the group wipe on a boss and someone did subpar dps or failed a mechanic? they get kicked.
what is the alternative? carry that player for your whole key or just deal with depletion and try again one level lower?
if there were no key depletions, i would be a lot less conservative with who i invite to my keys - i would be more willing to give players a chance (because all i lose is like 20 minutes of my time - now i lose 20 minutes of my time and however long it takes me to fill the lower key level and hopefully time that in one shot to get it back to where i was previously)
What I love about this whole situation is that blizz would rather be the cause of a large amount of m+ leavers to the point where they have to implement a new ban reason rather than admit that the very foundations of m+ are bad and need to be scrapped.
No key downgrade = loot nerfed, because its generating infinite loot whereas raid is once per week.
I mean arn’t there a million solutions to this problem? Like how LFG Heroics used to give more crests for the first one you did each day?
No one has come up with a good solution. Either the dungeons get made MUCH harder, or loot gets nerfed or limited per day(in runs or items looted).
You failed to think of the negatives, M+ is literally infinite loot. Raid is once per week.

The problem is people would abuse it so their key never downgrades during any failure.
The same reason why people are starting to get banned for constantly leaving keys.
You can’t have a failsafe or anything nice without people trying to constantly exploit it or take advantage of something or someone. These people are the ENTIRE cause of ANY and ALL problems related to group content.
you lose time. minutes or hours of your life. you dont live forever. you dont have infinity to play, some day you will be too old, too tired and gone from this earth.
if you dont understand why your time is a precious resource and why losing it is a punishment already, then i can safely ignore everything else you have to say.
