Maybe M+ Leaving wouldn't feel as bad

… If the key doesn’t get downgraded from failing in the first place.

Change my mind.

EDIT: I can’t believe people like it when Keys Downgrade. Guess I won’t host M+ keys in the meantime. Or do it at all if deeps is just that expendable.

EDIT2: Glad people are coming into their senses and verify that I’m not insane thinking this.

there has to be some repercussion to failure

Yeah, but why?

… Especially factors that isn’t really your fault?

IDK why m+ doesn’t just copy the delve system of selecting whatever difficulty you want. WTF do we need keys for?

if the key doesnt deplete the leader will want to reset at the first badluck.
but maybe the “ban” scare tactic will work? idk lol

To prevent people from only doing the easier dungeons and leaving the rest to rot.

Blizzard has acknowledged that power outages account for at least some key depletions - there should, at the very least, be some sort of fail safe mechanism for those situations.

That doesn’t sound productive. At all.

Still better than 4 other people potentially screwing the keybearer over.

At the end of the day, if one just want to call it. It’s ultimately on everyone’s time. Do we really need to downgrade the keybearer’s key in doing so?

Doesnt feel bad anyway. Only thing that feels bad is the time you lost on a failed run

Losing 40 minutes of your life is enough.

You would need to find an alternative to key downgrades as a “punishment” for failing to curb a rather predictable way this would impact player behavior.

If you don’t understand what I’m saying then take a moment to apply critical thought. How might players behave if they knew they could reset their key without it downgrading. Is that something Blizzard is trying to avoid?

Have you tried being a keybearer? It’s quite the gamble.

Especially… -shudders- Azralon… Quel’Thalas… Ragnaros…

So just pull the plug on the PC now lol

It’s a video game. Every minute is a minute lost.

1st bad pull and…ok y’all let’s reset.

What’s the point then?

yeah it’s even less tempting to apply to those now. i used to enjoy the gamble but i’m not ready to lock myself with them for a full run if i lost the “gamble” heh

Most of the runs i do are my own key (save for the odd ball one i need to round off all keys of a set level).

Its easier and better as my own key

I mean, if people want to reset. Let them.

Again, no reason to punish the keybearer because of a one bad pull.

Especially when the dungeon is like 10 minutes in.

There needs t be something to motivate the player to time the key, if you don’t time it then why should you have the same key level? It means you are not ready for that difficulty

People are so worried about fail safe mechanisms being abused and just completely have zero regard for the fact that a key depletion due to an internet outage is devastating to the leader’s mythic plus progression.

Bringing your key back to 15 or 16 isn’t a given and doing the 14 can easily result in a failure, then leave you with a 13 key.

What would happen with no key depletions?

  1. People would get their vault easier: non-issue, vaults should be easy to fill.
  2. The mythic plus 0.1% title rating would be much higher because people spend their time progressing in their suited key level rather than doing homework and bringing their 12 back to a 16 because they had trolls deplete their keys for fun: also a non-issue and would be better for the game. People would have to do more work to reach the title range but at least they would still be able to play the game after a couple unlucky depletions. Also invites to mythic plus would be much less elitist because your key wouldn’t deplete - removing key depletions just lets everyone enjoy mythic plus more.
