Isn’t upgrading the key enough reason to motivate the player to time the key?
There are 4 other players to worry about and I have to trust them to be in a good faith not to leave the key for any reason (on top of doing well, mind you!) to not let it downgrade further.
If I don’t time it fair and square, another chance to upgrade it by doing another run would be a enough reason to motivate players to time it next time.
Asking yet another run to go back to where you were before is just disrespecting the player’s time… and patience.
First of all, not everyone plays the game enough to make connections with good players.
Second of all, even if you do have a team, they aren’t always on when you want to play. So what do you do if you aren’t playing a meta spec and your team isn’t online? You won’t get any invites to keys so you have to run your own key with strangers or just not play the game.
People have been giving blizzard this feedback regarding key depletions since the implementation of mythic plus in legion - it feels bad and disrespects the player’s time when depletions happen to RNG like power outage or internet Dc.
Then what should Blizzard do instead when a key is overtimed? having t be the same level is a bit ridiculous some single player games have it where ifu die too many times it recommends u switch to easy
should people just lose io rating?
in PVP if u lose a game u lose rating so itso only fair
I think this would be irrelevant to most people given that 80% of people in the run aren’t affected if a key is downgraded (which frankly is its own problem, what’s the point of keys if only 1 person has to care?).
Leaving sucks for anyone who wants to complete the run because it wastes 5-30 minutes of their time (+ group forming time) when they could have just finished for vault credit or at least get the 5 crests.
Ofc I understand that different contexts kind of change if leaving is rude or not. A group labeled timing or push or whatever it is wiping more than once is effectively done, and if the wipe is on like a trash pull before you even get to the first boss I get why you wouldn’t try to tough it out with zero leeway for the entire rest of the dungeon.
That also applies to really any key above +10 since no one is doing those for Vault Credit or using them to farm Crests.
But any key 10 or lower labeled completion or standard? Yeah it kinda just sucks for everyone when someone leaves when the rest wanted to continue.
I do get the argument that its more worth the time to leave and find a better run if you’re farming crests since you get more than double for timing it, but with how some nights go with pugs, that ends up meaning 3 runs in a row get abandoned and the only people benefitting at that point are the leavers. I’d have rather gotten my consolation crests from rougher runs than have to do the same key 4 times because people are bad and others are impatient.
Nothing! No key downgrades! You run a dungeon and you failed. Try again!
Notice your choice of word there. In this case, you are forced to have your key downgraded if the run didn’t work out. In order to catch back again, you need to run one more time to get caught back up. No guarantee there either because you are back in the beginning with a reduced difficulty.
No.
Not a good comparison. M+ Rating is PvE. PvP is already a different beast.
Even League of Legends is lenient when people leave in the middle of a match lately.
I don’t understand what’s wrong with a keystone depleting. If the previous level was easy then it should be easy for you to get back up to where you once were, if not better. If you had a 10 and it went down to a 9 you could upgrade it by +2 and have it be an 11
