I joined one Thursday night on white mane. 25M Heroic 5/5.
We wiped on beasts 4 times and I left. Tank/RL/organizer kept getting 1 shot. Should have left the first time and just joined a SR PUG or something.
Thanks for listening.

Idk man I clear four Heroic 25 man TOGC gdkps with 50/50 cloaks every week in addition to my guild raid.
Join a better group, this isn’t an exclusive problem to gdkps. Checking the organizer’s logs can help with this.
Same, but not this time, so maybe?
I run on Whitemane and there are a lot of pug groups, GDKP and SR, always a good idea to go with reputable ones or log check.
With that being said sometimes you roll the dice and it comes up bad. Can be that way with any kind of group. Better luck in the future!
how does “gdkp” have anything to do with your raid failing at first boss?
you could be in sr run and wipe as well…
i dunno why people ask for gdkp ban… if u dislike it then never join it, it’s simple.
As I always say, you are free to ban GDKP in your own raids or go to ones that don’t do GDKP. This is assuming of course you actually play this game.
Because it was a GDKP raid?
But I agree it probably shouldn’t be banned based off my 1 bad experience. I’ve had good experiences too where I get paid well or get great loot.
Anyhow I’m just asking if you think we should or not. I’ll mark your answer as a no in the spreadsheet. Thank you.
They will never ban GDKP because it makes them money. Both in WoW tokens and in subscriber count for people who don’t want to deal with guilds and only want to use a GDKP system to have more control over what they can get. Lots of those people out there.
It just makes business sense to leave it in. And I don’t think it makes the game that much worse. Outside of gold inflation.
Plus. Many people are huge fans of raiding to make gold on their alts so they never have to farm or do anything else. They can just raid log.
The organizer cuts are getting egregious though. When I ran a GDKP in private server we did a 10% cut. In TBC I ran a GDKP at 15%, but everyone else had a 20% cut. Now you see 30% even, sometimes. Or 20% and then they give the organizers an extra cut.
Curious why anyone truly believes that GDKP are causing problems. In many opinions, they are fairest way to distribute loot within pugs. If you don’t get the piece you are bidding on, you obtain a higher net share of gold that will contribute to your next GDKP. In MS>OS, you take nothing with you if you lose the roll that carries over to your next MS>OS. You are just left with a roll of the die each and every time.
And your conclusion is to ban GDKP? I don’t get it.
Post was made on a Friday night so credibility has to be very low, moving on…
random trade chat gdkps are no better than st pugs
Because GDKPs are against the spirit of gaming, which slowly damages the player base.
In what way? I’m sorry bro, I’m not going to carry you for free.
It’s against the spirit of the game because they say so. That’s all.
Ignore the fact that I have grouped with and met so many new people directly as a result of gdkps.
I have been able to have solid, scheduled pug groups because of gdkps, not wasting any time forming the group we reliably start at the same time every week, similar to my guild runs.
Being able to have these scheduled raids allows me to play many more characters I otherwise would not as well, and do what I enjoy more (raid).
You’re already locked. You can’t join someone else’s run.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with which loot systems are good or bad. Maybe change your title.
There’s an incredibly simple fix to this: run your own and take a smaller cut.
The problem with this scenario (and GDPK in general) is that it is pay-to-win. Sure you can accumulate gold and bid on gear. But you are competing with people who buy their gold from a sketchy website, or who use wow-tokens from retail, to outbid you.
eradicates the community aspect, embraces p2w, cheating and toxicity
it’s very bad for the game
How? You still have to do the raid, if anything it’s more open than a normal guild because you play with new people more often.
I don’t know what toxicity has to do with it, but if someone talks about buying gold you can report them, and bots are going to bot no matter what. Also, I really don’t understand the p2w argument. What do you “win” in this scenario? You just get a piece of loot, the same way as if it was handed out due to rolling for it (gambling).
new ppl. aka strangers. and you don’t have to be nice to strangers on the internet. in fact, it’s in your best interest to screw them as much as possible.
I don’t see how your complaint is specific to GDKP in any way.
Bad groups exist. This is unrelated to GDKP.
