Maximum Realm Capacity Increased – August 28

I’m saying that the issue affecting thousands right now is the problem. Layering down the road can be dealt with then.

Not sure why that’s so hard comprehend

Nah… That’s just a lagg.

If you remove layering with a 20K population, you will have what we had in the first Stress Test.

People stuck-in place, rubberbanding back and forth, and the game will be essentially stuck.

2:30 pm EST on Stalaag which is an east coast realm, had over 10K in the que. Which I would not consider 2:30 pm to be peak times… I really hope this helps.

Also to add, you guys need to do a better job of kicked people off who are afking and staying online. Kinda like how Sodapoppin is SLEEPING ON STREAM while is character is afk in a dungeon.

When will these hotfixes be live? If we are currently in queue for a server, should we relog?

They expect the playerbase to have a massive die off, the removal of layering right now hinges on a massive amount of the people currently trying to play giving up completely before P2 and never coming back.

If too many people stay, the loss of layering will take all the servers from no queues to massive queues, if enough people want to play, the only solution come P2 is layering stays or we open servers, or we just drive off the people who stuck around because we only want X amount of people playing this game in the long term.

When should we expect these hot fixes to be in effect?

I’m still 5500 in queue and it is hardly moving. not sure what you guys did or didn’t do because it seems to be the same slow login experience i was having the past 2 days… FeelsBadMan

mega meme servers are herod and fearlina are ones in danger

I’m at work but my buddy says Incendius right now after hot fixes has a queUE of almost 5,000. Doesn’t seem like a very good fix. Still unplayable

currently deploying =/= already deployed

The people whos only answer is swap servers every single day until queues go away are just retail trolls who arent playing classic or dont care if it is successful.

Back to Herod everyone!!!

ty so much blizz

yay! Hopefully this helps

well that wouldn’t make me happy in my opinion, layering is something i think detracts from the game

I never watch this guy. What is he doing to stay online?

This sums up this perfectly. Also a good point for people claiming they will have lag without layering, the servers are not even close to maxed right now, because of them capping at classic levels.

They are connected… layering creates a copy of the entire world. They aim to only have X amount of people in a given layer. Once those layers are considered “full” they can either increase server capacity by increasing number of people per layer, or they can create new layers (alternatively, it may be an automatic process based on current number of players - but the result is the same).

So if they have Y layers, they can hold XY people. They can either increase the number of layers, Y , or the people per layer X, and end up with a larger population. Because large groups of players near each other cause exponentially more load on the server (every action one player does it sent to every other player that can see it), you have to be careful about increasing X - it can be very inefficient (you can fit more people in a given server (RAM/CPU/Network Capacity) with layering than you can without). This is why Layering and number of layers is connected to how many people can fit in a given amount of resources.
