Maximum Realm Capacity Increased – August 28

Can’t wait. 4k queue on incendius right now :face_vomiting:

Hopefully they aren’t increasing layers while making the amount of players in them smaller…

When this game looks and plays like retail, I’m out!!

Layering is about reducing the stress on the server due to a large amount of people clumped up together in too small of an area (such as 20k people in a single instance of northshire), it has nothing to do with the queues. So while this could still be a concern later for things like phase 6 and the AQ event, it shouldn’t effect their layering plans too much for transitioning to phase 2… hopefully.

Kaivax, do we relog for this or stay in que and hotfix will be applied?

When is this taking effect? Why is there no communication on is there needs to be a restart or not? Will we all be booted?

Very very nice Blizz, fingers crossed it all works as intended!

Good lord, can they do nothing right?

It’s a solution for the now problem. Once the hype dies down and curious people go back to retail, this won’t be necessary.

Man, people will find a problem with anything…

So you say it’s a solution for the now problem but once the hype dies down and curious people go back to retail, the servers will empty a bit for the removal of layering all together? I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here

You think you do, but you don’t.

Ion Hazzikostas:

While we are able to fit several times more players on a single realm in 2019 than was the case in 2006, we are not going to raise that cap any further

When will this go into effect? Not noticing any difference in queues at the moment.

When though? 15k queue on Faerlina right now. Its pretty much forcing people to stay logged because no one wants to sit through those queue times again. This should have been done day one. The game is fantastic but you guys are dropping the ball on this one.

When does this take effect? Still experiencing 12k+ queues on Herod.

Sounds like a good idea, my realm is very empty though, I hardly meet other players, so I am not sure how it can be labeled “high” if I am alone there. :frowning:

Just no more servers please, the retail crowd will soon go back to BFA, we need servers with a high population.

I know this was something y’all - and the #nochangers - wanted due to staying with the spirit of Vanilla, but given the popularity of Classic, I approve of this change.

Thank you.

Please tell me which realms are empty.
Every single realm sans the ones they added less than a day ago are full now that we’re entering normal hours.

Every time they add a new server, people flock to it and it becomes full within a matter of hours.

They’re probably increasing the number of layers allowed on each realm, which increases the total capacity.

I look forward to my 11 hour queue turning into a 10 hour queue.
