Max level camping

Blizzard please do something about the constant groups of level 50 groups sitting inside Incursions farming the crap out of low level players.

This should not be the best source of honour in the game.

Hey, they cut STV honor by 1/4, and BGs are unchanged and boring. This is the best alternative.

Which is why my post indicates something needs to be done

Having a res timer because the only exit is being blocked is impeding to gameplay. Whether people accept it or not this is griefing.

What’s worse is the amount of abuse received by other players of the same faction for pointing it out.

The portal needs guards like the vendor. I’m sure players will still prove they’re the worst part of the game by being D-bags but at least they won’t be able to bottleneck farm the portal.

Also, agreed, the rez timer needs to be looked at. Getting insta killed non-stop and waiting 2 min makes the game literally unplayable.

Just go level somewhere else

No, only the vendor needed it. Its the only place players need to stop and stand still while they hand in 6+ quests at a time. You need to finish menuing.

The portal isnt a destination, you just need to walk through, which will never take more than 2 deaths with a very close graveyard.

Yes, that is an option unless you also want the new faction rep then I guess you’re SOL.

Better rep and money with less people at incursions at 50

Surprise Surprise, putting in guards by the NPCs did nothing to stop the ganking, it just moved it. Who saw that coming.

PVP happened on a PVP server. Like there are a lot of arguments that could be made about the impact of NPC placement and access, but this is quite literally the way PVP servers work. And you had an option to avoid it.

Also valid points but the faction imbalance is so bad with people layer hoping to avoid pvp constantly.

We were told servers would be balanced but the layering issue means they end up always unbalanced.

PVP Server Players that somehow didn’t see this coming: “We need guards at the NPCS!”
Me: “They will just move to camping inside the portal.”
Blizzard puts in guards.
Same PVP server players: “They are just camping inside the portal, we need more guards!”
Me: “They will just move out of range of the guards.”

This is quite literally just how PVP servers work. If you wanted PVP disabled in these areas, you should have chosen a PVE server. I get it’s frustrating, and it’s dumb, and these people doing this are the lowest common denominator, but that is exactly what you signed up for on a PVP server.

I mean, that’s just because layers blow. A single layer for incursions would be pretty sick, honestly.

No it wouldn’t. It would be every patch day STV. You would lag so hard you couldn’t even fight, and there would be no mobs for you to even touch. There is a reason layers exist.

Obviously, yeah, I’m not really suggesting that they disable layering and see what happens, but the idea of a major faction battle over a primo questing area is cool

Well, the sad thing is that these types of things are just not feasible anymore with the size of the game like it is these days. Long gone are the days of 3000 max pop servers. Just a hazzard of this being so popular.

I’ve seen you posting on other posts, don’t need your trolling here.

PvP isn’t “camping low level characters on spawn”

This. Those vendors are the equivalent of a major neutral town - 18+ quests rolled into one NPC and several vendors (food, potions, repairs, and a rep vendor) rolled into another. If you decompressed these NPCs you’d have an entire town.

Yeah, it’s sad. I miss guilds getting into wars in hillsbrad over their lowbies getting camped. Going out to do quests and level, and running into 100+ max level toons fighting it out was one lf the coolest parts about pvp servers. Now people hang their head, hope the other side doesn’t notice them, and then make forum posts about getting killed.

I’m always down for PvP.
But max level characters corpse camping, at the only entrance/exit to a zone is griefing. The constant 2min res timer is impeding gameplay.

I tried changing layers, there was only 1. The focus around SoD is not leveling as it was in classic era, otherwise leveling options would be more equivalent to the 30min levels Incursions bring and Blizz wouldn’t have kept Discover’s Delight active and buffed it.

My complaints aren’t about being ganked, they are about being spawn camped.

I played on the Anathema server in Era and this happened all the time, there were no layers, but population was low and they eventually closed the server. It’s sad. I miss those days.

I also miss the days of doing the same in vanilla. But the times they are a changing.

You’re making an arbitrary designation. The reality is that world PVP is never fair, there are no rules, and to try and make some distinction is silly. And I get it, I really do. I hate the people that don’t engage in a fair or reasonable fight as much as the next person.

I was annoyed when I was fighting a really good rogue on the road and the shaman just starts healing him mid fight. I just stood there and gave up, please kill me, there’s no point in this. But I also don’t get to dictate arbitrary rules to them. If I wanted a fair fight I would go to a BG.

Getting killed in world PVP, REGARDLESS of what level you are, is not griefing. And being killed over and over in the same area that is not a safe zone or major city is also NOT griefing. If you don’t want to keep being killed, go to a different area. Leave the area that the PVP is happening in.
