That’s all it is. The dev(s) that made these changes probably don’t like it either. Their exec team just wants play time up at the cost of good game mechanics. Frustrating as hell.
really bad news for the 5 people who still go into the maw.
How about just not make them ‘first come first serve’ to begin with?
So are we all, mere numbers and wallets.
I don’t want a hotfix, I want a reversal. This change was completely unnecessary and only serves to irritate your player base.
If you think participation is low now… haha got news for you.
That depends technically on how fast the respawn is.
For example, if the respawn is .1 seconds, it won’t make a significant difference from multi-loot.
This is such double speak nonsense. Honestly, would it be so hard to say “the intended behaviour is a fast respawn time, we’re working to fix that”. Don’t try to fob us off with language like “we’re working on a hotfix” when the hotfix is for something completely different to the thing people are complaining about.
Just… speak plainly.
That is something that intrigues me. The change to make the same item be “lootable” for everyone was something implemented on MOP maybe? Something that works incredibly well. Who is the person on this team that has those stupid ideas?
Seriously, do you have a “BAD DECISIONS” MORNING’S MEETING?
So it’s going to be like the mining node quest spawns in BfA? A dozen players getting “That node is busy” while one guy gets to loot it at a time?
Pass.
if the respawn is 0.1 why would they bother implement this change…don’t be ridiculous
All I know is it’s more quests I won’t do.
More time playing other games.
Why not just phase them one-by-one for each player so:
A. People aren’t just standing next to a spawn point the whole time.
B. People aren’t in a click-fest.
Not exactly.
As it was before, everyone could loot the node at basically the same time. Now, you loot the node. .1 second later I loot the node. Then the next person loots the node. If there are five people there, sure their time isn’t extended from that long at one. But it starts to add up with everyone trying to loot the same node. It also encourages antagonistic behavior like looting while someone is fighting the mob guarding it.
It’s not a good change or a good hot fix.
They’re saying they’re going to make the item respawn in the same spot after its clicked. The Maws only jam packed on reset day so that’s the only time of the week it’s really an issue.
Why was it changed in the first place? Will you “community” managers even attempt to answer a question like this? Or should I assume you will hold up the status quo of being useless.
To hazard a guess? Distraction and diversion.
To what ends I know not. Mayhap to give people aught to rage over besides class balance.
That’s really the biggest issue about changes like this for me. Blizzard rarely explains why they felt the need to make the change in the first place.
At a guess, something about the coding is easier.
I’m not quite willing to attribute true malice to the change.
Yet
But they aren’t saying that, you’re saying that.
I just want the dev team to communicate to us in a clear manner. This post was guaranteed to make people more angry, as it comes across as defensive.
Why do they feel they need to be defensive about their decisions? It makes me doubt their confidence, which in turn leads to more questioning of their competence.
They should tell us in advance that they are planning these changes and why they are making them. Currently everyone just assumes they have something to hide, because why else communicate in this way?
Probably got nothing better to do
