Somebody else mentioned that. I didn’t think that would help with AoE though. that’s what he’s hitting you with I thought.
interesting that you say i didn’t when it clearly shows it under my “touring” achieve section.
blood dk with kyrian as the cov choice.
I’ve killed it solo on my 158 geared BM hunter, you should have ZERO problems with Maw of the Maw at 183. LOL
It’s almost like the anima powers you luck into and consumables available on the vendor (no smoke bombs or 30% damage potion on my guy) can make a huge difference on your success.
It’s under the Gatekeepers of Torghast achievement.
i’m 100% i got the kill cause i got my BIS rune after he died, i’d love to say armory is updating but i certainly want my damn achievement for the pain it was to kill him
Well hell. Now I’m starting to believe you. I wonder why it wouldn’t show up for you.
now i’m questioning if i killed him and i got this mistakenly
Maybe i got lucky, Ive hit other bosses that people said were easy and they’ve kicked my butt so I certainly didnt survive it on skill alone!
I got him down at 160ish… I did use everything though… Flask/food/rune. I did not use Animal Companion, I used killer instinct, w/Clefthoof and Lust… I used 1 health pot, and hit Exhiliration once. I’ve been hit or miss on my animas, so I can’t remember if I had good luck during that run or not… I do remember being able to buy the ‘35% bonus damage during combat potion’, which was nice.
Which is downright bad because even in most roguelikes they have powers that are top tier and then all around okay and you can get by.
With Torghast its you get the best power or you get complete trash and you might as well start over.
At first I thought maybe the manager in charge of the team making Torghast made a lot of bad calls but now I feel like the team that designed it where also doing the dungeons and raid design so they forgot its suppose to be a roguelike.
you have never killed maw of the maw. theres no check mark next to it for your account. youve killed a couple others.
Things I learned from this thread.
- Someone needs to make a guide on end boss strategies and abilities.
- People who play only tank specs don’t understand why some dps classes struggle.
- Some classes have crazy OP one shot powers that make everything trivial.
- Anima power RNG REALLY matters to the success of a run.
- The level of your gear does play a part, if you’re having a REALLY hard time. Go run some dungeons or group up.
Finally, telling people “I play that class and I didn’t have any problems” is more frustrating to fellow players because it doesn’t help them figure out what happened in their run compared to yours.
