This person knows where it’s at! Plus most of the fishing vendors have level appropriate recipes for the area you’re in.
Can you find me a single video of Sin’dall or Bhagthera getting skinned?
I could not skin them after killing them and looting them yesterday. Was not in a group, so that wasn’t a problem. Same with Deadmire in Dustwallow. I believe the issue is any mob with a “group lootable” drop acts as if it still has the drop on it and therefore can’t be skinned, even while solo.

Sounds like you may have had a bug.
What do you mean horribly uncommon? Like 50% of the time beasts have no loot in them.
I think you’re confusing “should be able to do something” vs “are able to do something in actuality”.
Again, can you find me a single video of anyone successfully skinning these mobs in Classic?
Considering how many skinners there are running in rampant at the moment, don’t you find it a touch odd that so many are leaving their corpses lying around to despawn without skinning them first if they had the option to?
Yes! Exactly. They appear to be bugged at the moment. This isn’t just the three I mentioned. I’ve seen this with every single named beast that has a group lootable quest item. Something is up with them in Classic.
I doubt there is a issue with loot tables, so far i have had none, what i do know is that some things can be anoyingly low drop rates, the turtle meat some mentioned is one… some go to thousend needles flats for the turtles there, but i honestly dont know if its much better…
My tip to you is, farming mats isent for everyone, dont have the patience for it, farm gold and buy the stuff…

The only problem with skinning I’ve had is being unable to skin a mob I looted aquest item from even though I’d normally be able to otherwise

Yea same, yesterday i killed around 50 fast spawning tigers around the quest where you gotta blow a horn to make a special one spawn and i got absolutely 0 loot… i mean i didn’t certain types of mobs didnt drop ANYTHING
People saying “oh that just classic loot” clearly do not understand what I am saying. I am not complaianing about a low drop rate…I am complaining there is -no- loot whatsoever, and while I understand that sometimes things do not drop it is happening too commonly for it to be anything but a issue with loot in general.
And even if it was, -everything- that is a beast and has been properly looted is skinnable by someone who has the skill, which I do, but I am not able to skin them at all.
This is a loot bug. We reported when we first started experiencing it as well. The more people that report it when it happens to them the sooner they can get it fixed. I have had this playing solo, grouped and with different loot options set. People just need to bug report it.

level your fishing alongside cooking and it will be a breeze
I am not talking about the low drop rate if turtle meat, I am refering to the claims that are supose to have a 40% chance to drop from each turtle according to wowhead classic
Check to make sure one of your addon is not blocking loot. If you are using them. This happened to me early on.
Besides that though. The drop rates have been easier than I remember them being in Vanilla.
Yes, very possiblely…but that does not change the fact that if they have no loot in them they should still be able to be skinned, which is not the case.

Probably isn’t one. But that’s the way it was, so that’s the way it will be.
Once agian, reread my orginal post. This is not a post complaing about rng, this is a post about the loot system being broken. I can understand there being no loot in a mob, what I -can not- understand is why if there no loot then why can I not skin a mob? It clearly skinable, being a beast, but when I try to skin it say 'someone else is currently looting that corpse".
