Mass reported in BGs on new toon need help

It’s not risky at all. Simply don’t camp things by yourself, that’s pretty much it. Get out there with the group and attack the opposite faction. That’s not hard, and if you play that way, you’ll never get actioned. (Personally I never got actioned and played hundreds or thousands of BGs over the years.

There’s no risk at all just ‘playing BGs’. Simply take on board the fact that if you’re just standing in one place, doing nothing (read: “defending”), it’s not acceptable to most players. If you want to be a tower defender, you need to look for a pre-made group that’s happy assigning you that job. Random queue isn’t the place for the “defending” / standing doing nothing tactic.

You say this was your first time doing PvP. Don’t let the mistake get you down - just learn from it. You’ve learned what not to do… now you won’t get any non-participation reports anymore, yeah? You’ll just be out there tearing up the other faction.

It’s very important to point out that ‘mass reports’ don’t matter. You do nothing wrong, you can get 11,234,786 reports and nothing will come of it. Vice-versa, you can receive a single, lone report from one other user which will result in a penalty if you were breaking rules.

Again, the number of reports doesn’t matter. Tell your friends, tell your guildies, tell anyone that will listen, because too many people are ignorant of this fact.

It’s like if you’re caught robbing a store in real life. It doesn’t matter how many people called the police. Whether it’s one person randomly passing the store, ten customers, a hundred people in a bus outside - or no people at all (security system) - your penalty is the same. That would be, the penalty for breaking and entering. The penalty doesn’t increase or decrease based on how many people reported the crime, and the crime isn’t prosecuted any faster or slower or with more or less intensity based on the number of reports.

The cops may show up faster if four dozen reports come in, sure, Just as Blizzard might attend to player reports faster if four dozen come in as well. That’s all that changes: the speed with which the reports are attended. Nothing else is made better or worse or harsher or more lenient by the number of reports.

Good luck.
