Got 2 suggestions on the main thread I linked above. 1 was to post here the other was to spam CS with tickets and I don’t think spamming CS with tickets helps. Would be nice to live chat with someone instead of praying on the appeal ticket to work (though from what i’ve been told 99% of the time it’s an auto decline without any conversation or reading). Any help appreciated.
Mass tickets is a realy bad idea posting here wont get u any further either only way to apeal is via ticket u only need 1 and ill be honest Logs are Logs either the logs back u up or the logs back up whatever action u recieved. Dont do live chat either thats not what apeals are for.
And before u claim fake GM bots all tickets are handled by real people.
On a side note lot of good advice running dungeons LFR and questing will get u the gear you wont.
Also afk on tower defense till they fall is a good way to get reported as afk its no different then camping the starting cave.
Live chat is only for billing issues. Even when there was a phone line, it wasn’t meant for appeals - only tickets are the way to appeal a sanction.
From what you said in your other thread though, you pretty much proved the point of your sanction. When in BGs, you go with the pack. Sit in towers and defend solo, you’re asking for the AFK reports. Your sanction will likely be upheld if it was in regards to PvP exploitation or whatnot. Either way, your ticket will be answered in the order that it was received. It is just a matter of you waiting on that appeal.
And too, appeals are not for you to plead your case. It is for a fresh pair of eyes to overlook the data.
You are also in violation of the forum rules about posting in regards to violations/sanctions. Here there is a little bit of leeway so that folks can be educated, but your other post is likely going to be taken down for the breach.
[EDIT]
Had to pause and dig up a Vrak explanation for clarification.
The explanation of tower defense is very confusing. If they find defending a tower to prevent back cap to be not participating then why are towers in the battleground?
Its more of I just stood there incase hode decided to attack so i wont do anything.
It is a team event. If you’re not with the team as a whole, you’re missing the point of what you’re doing. There are always side objectives, but you need to be working as a team. Just sitting in a tower and collecting the HKs isn’t helping your team in the long run. Yeah, just bum-rushing the boss also defeats the purpose, but if that is how your team is running it, you should be there with them.
And too, this wouldn’t be from just one or two BGs. They would see this as a pattern of behavior before they sanctioned you.
Bonus note from Orlyia:
Never knew any of this, was first time trying to do BGs because people said it was good to gear. It would seem like doing pvp is too risky though because apparently the way I thought to play is ban worthy. I appreciate the responses and help.
Dungeons and raid are better for gear BGS are better if u want to seriously pvp.
You are welcome. Looking over your achievements on retail (I’m assuming you’re speaking of your TBCC variant though, being that is the original forum you posted in) - honestly you should know better. You’ve got over 700 AV matches under your belt. This isn’t really a new development.
But either which way, you are again welcome. I’m sorry you had to learn this the hard way, but your sanction will be over before you know it. Good luck with your gearing up once you’re back!
It’s not risky at all. Simply don’t camp things by yourself, that’s pretty much it. Get out there with the group and attack the opposite faction. That’s not hard, and if you play that way, you’ll never get actioned. (Personally I never got actioned and played hundreds or thousands of BGs over the years.
There’s no risk at all just ‘playing BGs’. Simply take on board the fact that if you’re just standing in one place, doing nothing (read: “defending”), it’s not acceptable to most players. If you want to be a tower defender, you need to look for a pre-made group that’s happy assigning you that job. Random queue isn’t the place for the “defending” / standing doing nothing tactic.
You say this was your first time doing PvP. Don’t let the mistake get you down - just learn from it. You’ve learned what not to do… now you won’t get any non-participation reports anymore, yeah? You’ll just be out there tearing up the other faction.
It’s very important to point out that ‘mass reports’ don’t matter. You do nothing wrong, you can get 11,234,786 reports and nothing will come of it. Vice-versa, you can receive a single, lone report from one other user which will result in a penalty if you were breaking rules.
Again, the number of reports doesn’t matter. Tell your friends, tell your guildies, tell anyone that will listen, because too many people are ignorant of this fact.
It’s like if you’re caught robbing a store in real life. It doesn’t matter how many people called the police. Whether it’s one person randomly passing the store, ten customers, a hundred people in a bus outside - or no people at all (security system) - your penalty is the same. That would be, the penalty for breaking and entering. The penalty doesn’t increase or decrease based on how many people reported the crime, and the crime isn’t prosecuted any faster or slower or with more or less intensity based on the number of reports.
The cops may show up faster if four dozen reports come in, sure, Just as Blizzard might attend to player reports faster if four dozen come in as well. That’s all that changes: the speed with which the reports are attended. Nothing else is made better or worse or harsher or more lenient by the number of reports.
Good luck.
See, there is an odd disconnect here. The character they’re posting from? 399 Honor Level, 113,041 honorable kills. The BGs on their record is also pretty extensive.
Truth. Gave 'em the benefit of the doubt, and I was hustled.
The person’s PvP knowledge puts mine to absolute shame. I feel silly having tried to explain BG participation to them.
Oh well, LOL. At least I got to type out the anti-mass-report-hysteria info again. It can’t be stated enough. If I were Blizz, I’d literally make it a login pop-up at the risk of more backlash akin to the ‘Social Contract’ backlash.
“In order to log in, we must first discuss mass reports. Scroll down, read the following, and click either 'I understand,” or “I don’t understand,” to continue."
Don’t worry, I had the same kind of huh what?? moment when I went and took a peek at their stats. Either way, I bookmarked this post so I could easily access all the PvP notes for when the next time rolls around I’m not digging through the search feature.
