I don’t doubt this at all especially with the amount of harrassment in whispers I get after leaving a key I realize has no benefit. I study the mechanics before ever going into a key, it’s extremely frustrating to be expected to complete a key when others have not put in the effort to time the key and do it efficiently. Some people expect a carry and will hold you hostage by threatening or actively reporting you if you leave.

Doesn’t matter if they reported you. You are allowed to leave a key for any reason, they can’t hold you hostage and Blizzard won’t do anything about their reports.
From what I read from mythic+ enjoyers, there are legitimate reasons to leave a dungeon. Without condemning or condoning, I understand.
So what happened ? Did you get a warning or something ?
After reading some of the OP’s later posts, it appears the pug players simply said they reported him - it doesn’t appear he actually got hit with any automated ban/silence/etc
Fortunately the size of an M+ group being 5 players is just shy of the “threshold” to trigger an automated silence or ban, I believe the threshold starts at around 5 players reporting someone - so 4 angry pugs probably wouldn’t set off the threshold
5 different players reporting someone is what the threshold is for an automated AFK-kick anyways (in LFR and BGs), so I assume it’s a similar threshold here
Good thing it appears to have been a false alarm, just imagine what would happen to the M+ pug scene if something like this was real (getting banned for leaving a bad/wipefest key)

Just this guy. He’s an infamous troll and detractor on the forums.
At that point you should have been permanently banned from the game for this toxic griefing gameplay.
While I believe this story, I feel like your missing some key points in the situation that led up to you leaving, like what was exactly said by you and their response, because what it sounds like right now is that you didn’t want to do all the work, and you left out of frustration, thats when it becomes griefing the key, because even though it is frustrating, it seemed to me you were doing just fine in the key regardless, sooo what happened exactly? How many wipes if any? That stuff
Being stressed out is a perfect reason to leave something thats suppose to be fun. Challening =/= stressful. If teammates arent being team players, leave and do something that isnt stressful. Like a m+ with a decent group
If they don’t help, just don’t help either. Let everyone get -300% haste until you all need full repairs. Say DISPEL YOU SKUNKS in chat 50 times, just spam that over and over. And then post it so I can cackle and live vicariously ty! Mwahaha
Is there a consequence to getting ‘reported’ like that? If not, then don’t worry about it. Functions like reporting can be abused even if you did a perfect run and people just want to troll and they were in a group or know each other, so I doubt there would be much consequence without some further investigation done.
Of course a reasonable primary consequence should be that they and you end up never seeing each other’s listing, or maybe for the next few runs. Most of the time, nothing happens. It is unfortunate that wow retail cultivates the “I’m the champion I own everything” mentality in many, hence you see lots of elitists here (most of them suck but have egos too fragile to accept criticism, they did put a lot of work to learn certain aspects of the game believing that they then know everything).

Wouldn’t mind afflicted if only 1 ghosts spawned but having to rely on the goodwill of DPS players to press something that isn’t in their DPS rotation is a headache.
Not everyone has infinite free time. I’m not going to wipe 20 times cause a group refuses to do a mechanic just to teach them a lesson when i could do… literally anything else with my life at that time.
Oh thats easy, any one that posts from a lvl 1 alt or undergeared alt 9/10 times are lieing or trolling, also if youve played the game long enough you dont know if youve been reported or not unless a gm actually messages you in-game

Dought it since op is from moongaurd and the only way to have a Eu toon is by paying for a 2nd account that is Eu account, highly doubt someone willing to go on the forums to lie is paying for 2 accounts
OP isn’t a low level / ilvl alt though. They’re 2900 442 ilvl and have timed 24+ keys.
Also no, an active trial account connected to a paid account from another region is enough to post, the char just has to be level 10 or more. I don’t pay extra for this for example.
