It’s not fear mongering, and it’s not about the spec. It’s about the loss of the pet.
Fact - After the patch, MM quality of life and game play capabilities WILL BE LESS than before the patch.
No pet tanking. This is the BIG one. Regardless of what some people might want to say to make it seem like they’re the ultimate Hunter-Jesus who doesn’t need to tank mobs ever, this is something that most people do even as a MM hunter.
No pet ping-ponging mobs.
No pet pulling things from a distance that you can’t get to because you can’t fly in that area or something.
No pet distracting mobs so you can herb or mine and then FD to leave without fighting.
No pet to use Eyes of the Beast with for whatever reason you might want to do that for.
If you’re like me and you WILL NOT EVER play SV or BM because you LOATHE those specs, then there will be no reason to keep taming pets, so you are losing the game play hook of collecting new pets when they are introduced to the game.
I have been playing BM Hunter for so many years. Not because of collecting pets, but for power, especially in pvp. My pet tiger could rip players apart so easily, but that was short lived because Blizzard kept nerfing BM Hunters to the ground just about every expansion.
Now that i have been playing a mage for about 2 years, it’s easy for me not have a pet as MM Hunter. Those training wheels (pets) are off. Good riddance.
What BM Hunters are so scared that if Blizzard nerfs BM Hunters to the ground, they won’t have MM Hunter to fall back on. They know they are really Fudged.
I do feel a bit bad for players who don’t want the Eagle as their “petless” option though. I can deal with it if I have the option to use my pet where it makes sense, but obviously their fantasy is kind of just gone.
I don’t know if they will go that far because they kind of decided that no pet hunter wasn’t part of the fantasy, but we will have to see if players really don’t want it or not.
Hell yeah. Easy, easy dub. Like, honestly, I have no idea why they thought that rinky dink bird thing would fly when people put that much time into getting the pets, at least those of us who use 'em.
And bravo keeping in petless for those folks. I do want you to still have your playstyle, though I like my pet. Congratulations! Everybody wins!
