But it wasn’t because they felt like it. It was because of massive player reaction to the announcement.
Ignorance isn’t funny. It’s a problem. I apologize for not seeing the humor in the post
Ok. Thank you for that. But I repeat, the forums didn’t have as big of an impact as you’re implying. Blizzard stopped interacting and caring about the forums a long time ago
Hence why I admitted to my error.
The humour was in the repeated insistence on seeing your Blizzard employee badge and decoder ring.
I have no interest in PvP either, but it’s still an answer to your question. Blizzard have long had a design philosophy of making it so abilities change as little as possible between game modes; take it up with them, not me.
The fact that they keep coming back to this removal is proof of the friction it’s causing on both the player and design side.
You can currently play Warlock without a pet too. That doesn’t make it any less suboptimal.
Yea that flew over my head
Like any blizzard employee is actively interacting with the forums bwahahaha I really should have seen that honestly.
ive also spent my time frequenting the thread and it is? the thread nearly gets 200 replies a day at this point.
Blizzard in 2016: We’re taking away pets from MM Hunters.
Blizzard later in 2016: So we’re letting MM Hunters keep their pets.
Blizzard in 2018: We’re taking away pets from MM Hunters (again).
Blizzard later in 2018: So we’re letting MM Hunters keep their pets (again).
They don’t just do these things and then backtrack for funsies (no matter how fun of a conspiracy that is), they backtrack because the players give them feedback to stop doing stupid things.
Again, they are looking at hard provable numbers when they make decisions.
No successful company is going to make a decision based solely on feedback. Humans are untrustworthy and manipulative. They will consider a feedback point and then look at the numbers for corroboration. If the numbers don’t support feedback nothing is going to change.
The post promoting this change was flagged and moved to the PTR forums.
I would hope the same happens here.
Pet pathing can be atrocious in high end content. Pets are not difficult to use at all, but this old engine makes pathing a nuisance sometimes.
People want to play a Hunter but don’t want to deal with pets. This is an obvious needed change that will bring more people to play the Hunter class. People wanted permanent water elementals gone and that was an amazing and welcome change. All I’m hearing from people against this change is “open world solo content”. Switch to another spec. Easy peezy. I haven’t seen a single reply from someone with raiding or M+ experience complain about this. There are options. You people are ignoring them just to complain. “Things change”. Get over it and move on.
“Just dismiss your pet” is a silly reply because it currently nukes your damage not having one out.
GG.
So the point is optimal vs suboptimal? Warlock didn’t originally have the choice to go petless at all. The choice to go petless on 2/3 specs was added later, and whether or not it’s suboptimal the choice is present.
Again… I personally think the changes are great. I am more likely to play my Hunter after the changes compared to my current interest level. The pet is a grating aspect of Marksmanship to deal with.
I can like the change while acknowledging the complaints of others about the change.
They evidently can rip core pet aspects out to push into abilities within the specs. Why are we not seeing similar changes for BM and Survival in terms of reducing the clunk surrounding pet control and unique pet family abilities in-combat? (Unless they did address that and I didn’t see it.)
If they had these “hard provable numbers” then they wouldn’t be making and then retracting decisions in the first place.
Yea ok. I can’t with you anymore man. It’s actually hurting my brain to have to teach on the forums. Try checking out some business classes some time. You don’t have to have an MBA to understand basic business decisions friend.
OK, just going to resort to insults. Thanks for letting me know that you’re not interested in any actual discussion here.
They don’t play any content in this game aside from LFR and the forums. Which is fine but their behavior here is very trollish. Ignore and move on.
They keep spouting stuff as if they access to hard numbers that no one has. It’s weird. They are just making stuff up to push their agenda. There’s 4-5 of them working hard right now. Just move on.
*They are stalking me now and calling me a creep in other threads which is very ironic, amusing and a little sad. I looked at their combat logs to see their in-game experience and they keep calling me an “armory stalker”. They don’t even know how to correctly insult people.
Oh, Hi Mr Creepy Stalker. I thought you were leaving these discussions, and mute Rankin as well. Seems like you can’t do either, like I predicted!
I left that thread and that person is muted. Pulling up someone’s public profile to call them on their nonsense is not being a creep or stalking. Actively following someone to every thread and replying to them off topic is in fact creepy stalkerish behavior. Go away.
Says the person who apparently has nothing better do to than armory stalk others.
this is actually creepy stalker behavior. both you and this rankin fellow should be ashamed, this is why no one is taking the pet mm crowd seriously if you resort to bad mouthing anyone who so as much makes the crime of saying anything positive of the new rework
I’m assuming they are very young or have personal issues. I’m just not going to interact with them anymore and I’ll flag every off topic reply to me as trolling, soon it will be harassment.
*Before they delete it. Here is this persons behavior below.
