JK, it’s SOD. They’ve abandoned DF.
what is that 3 or 4 rounds of tuning for SOD and we still haven’t gotten 1
Classic versions and retail have different teams. I’m guessing the retail devs are working on the ne xpac.
Currently the dev team on SoD is all passion project staff that have been extremely successful at adding things to a game that doesn’t need much added (classic).
Retail has yearly expansion which are huge amounts of work with a lot of intersecting systems, so things like pvp and other things get the backseat at lot of the time.
SOD gets weekly/biweekly updates, straight from Aggrend.
We get the crumbs.
I’ve returned to GW2 because of this
That only because gw2 had a major content update and finally get leggy armor :> Youll be back!.
I just finally sat down and did my 1st playthrough of Elden Ring and it was hands down one of the best games I’ve ever played. super dark, but unbelievable. couple of those bosses are…well, how do I say this…challenging.
Most likely yes, but atleast I know with gw2 the devs aren’t eating a monthly sub payment and offering nothing in return. Like hell, I’m watching this degen frost DK in AWC winning games purely because no one wants to play the hard counters into it, because it’s simply not fun.
See and I’ve even returned to Dawn of War & all the old RTS games. Even started getting into WC3 because I’ve been watching Grubby lately. It’s crazy how dramatically devs cared about the games 15+ years ago.
totally agree. definitely a disconnect somewhere. they don’t make 'em like they used to. I just really hope Microsoft doesn’t do to WoW what Epic did to Rocket League. the writing is on the wall
On one hand, microsoft treats AOE very well despite it being a small niche community.
On the other hand, microsoft hires a lot of people who are known to defecate on the street and have fake degrees.
so 50/50
That’s actually insane that they are tuning SOD and not retail.
Sums up how I feel pretty well.
If I’m paying a sub, I expect at least the bare minimum of effort into at least making PvP functional. But BGs / Epic BGs have been completely ignored for about 2 expansion. Arena balance is missing. And wPvP ceased to exist entirely after BfA.
Guess I’ll check back after the next xpac and see if anything improves. Other than that, /cancel.
There comes a time when making forums and complaining about these things stops working, and the only way to wake these people up is to stop giving them your money
If every active PVPer all unsubbed right now, And all of them voiced that the reason they were unsubbing was because they felt like the developers werent taking them seriously enough and wernt monitoring class balance/change enough that will be the only current and real way to promote change
Stop giving those clowns your money for a product you are discontent with, If they keep getting their money they will assume its not bad enough to actually have to do anything
The game is balanced rn
What crumbs?!? you see crumbs??? Where’s the crumbs, I’m hungry!!!
They’re still eating the crumbs we gotta wait our year long turn.
Bro, dlc coming out in June.
ER (and souls games in general) so good.
I’m unsurprised but also insulted by it. They really just don’t care and they seem to love to flaunt it because they know we won’t leave. Blizzard is a toxic relationship.
I’m lowkey insulted by it to. I mean, there’s always going to be an OP spec like DH, but some changes aren’t bad. Things are so stale and it’s crazy they are balancing that more than the actual flagship.
I guess there’s a lot of popularity with SOD right now, but what does that mean for retail then? Their rational is just terrible.
I understand all of the reasons for not touching anything during competitions and all that… I also understand they are being acquired and people have left or been fired or are mid transition. However, to just completely ignore literally everything. Not a single peep out of any blues about issues in retail pvp right now. The whole thing just blows my mind. I don’t expect a fix right away, just an acknowledgement at least. How freakin hard is it to just go on the forum and say, "hey we know there are some issues, and here’s what we are doing, or here’s why we cant do anything about right now but we are listening… whatever, just something. That doesn’t solve the problem obviously but its simply a matter of respect for your customers.
