Anyone have an idea what happened to the minimap button? I had to get rid of a keybind for M just so I can open the stupid map.
It should be right next to the name of where you are, above the calendar. Do you use any addons? Have you tried disabling any addons you are using or resetting your User Interface?
Yep, I only just realized that the location box at the top of the minimap is cut off, like it got moved up and off the screen. My buffs were moved up too and they were partially cut off.
I went through my addons and canât find one thatâs interfering, but I donât use any UI addons anyway. I was just talking in chat and the problem popped up the day we had a hotfix, any idea if that hotfix was for UI elements?
It doesnât necessarily need to be a UI addon, just one that might have shifted the UI element. Try disabling all of your addons and/or reset your UI. If the issue is resolved, it is one of the addons you are using and you can try enabling them one at a time to see if you can figure out which one.
There is an option to adjust the UI Scale under Graphics in the system settings, but it doesnât fundamentally move those elements so they are basically off screen, it just makes them larger or smaller.
Well, I just disabled my addons for the second time and this time the minimap moved back to itâs original place, it didnât do that last night when the problem first happened, I will have to investigate further now. Thanks for the help!
update:
Got a chance to really investigate and it turns out that Leatrix Plus has an âEnhance Minimapâ option and under that is another option to âunlock the minimapâ (something I didnât even know it could do, I donât usually use UI addons), I assume that means you can move it around the screen, but it still doesnât move, itâs also the reason the map was getting pushed off the screen.
Iâm not quite sure how that option got turned on, but seems everything is working now.
Some screen elements use coordinates to position items. Changing screen resolution can also affect the physical location of a coordinate.
Yeah I am faced with a similar problem, thank you for your input. I hate that Blizzhelp is always turn off your add ons and delete your wtf folder.
It is generally the first troubleshooting step recommended because addons can cause any number of issues and it is important to eliminate the most obvious cause first.
For example, an addon is what seems to have caused this issue two years ago, as Jeolene confirmed.
Itâs also quick and easy. You donât have to delete the wtf folder, you can just rename or move it. When you know if it helped or not, you can just move it back in. It wonât mess with your addon settings. Same with turning them on or off.
