I made a new horde character to main in shadowlands and went night fae. This week I have to go to Drustvar for a renown quest? Really? I have to do the whole intro and start of the war campaign for my renown? Have yet to get someone to summon me, but im not sure that would even work.
i mean the game is more than Shadowlands. i don’t know why players assume they can ignore 95% of the world.
expansions expand it not just swap out content.
Ive done this before. I dont want to do BFA story content again for my new main for shadowlands power progression.
the game does not operate based on what YOU want, though.
Here I thought my posts would magically change game mechanics, thanks for clarifying the use of the forums
I am going to side with the OP. Nothing wrong with sending him to drustvar, or any legacy zone, but send them to a phase where they can do the quest they have in their quest log.
I love when the introduced phasing in wrath because of the story and impact on the world possibilities it opened up but at this point I think it has caused me more grief than it has provided on its potential.
Don’t get me wrong it’s not a huge deal. But like… what if I was a returning or new player who hadnt touched BFA? It isnt even clear HOW you unlock drustvar at all - the renown quest doesn’t even have directors like “take the portal to zuldazar, bla bla bla”. A legitimately strange experience to just be ripped aside into having to figure out you have to specific BFA content.
Even now sitting in zuldazar the quest log doesn’t display my war campaign progress at the top… because it’s showing night fae campaign instead? I guess? And as someone who’s done it before I’m still having to go to a wiki to refigure out precisely which things I have to do.
huh. Yeah, I think there should be a portal to Drustvar provided, imo.
Isn’t the first quest of the war campaign to go set up bases in the 3 zones including Drustvar?
Just accept the quest, sail to Drustvar, then ditch Gallywix and the Orc that’s not worth remembering.
Eitrigg? He’s one of the oldest Orc characters lol. Belf players man.
Why would have to? There’s a portal right there next to Ysera that takes you straight to Ulfar.
There is.
No need. There’s a portal right in front of Ysera that takes you straight to Ulfar.
(Edited cause bad assumption and I insulted the OP unnecessarily.)
Every Orc is the same, except Thrall. No point making distinctions.
some orcs are red, some orcs are green.
- Make them engineer
- Use kulteras wormhole (kt engineering 1)
(get a mage portal to Borealis/Zandy to visit the engi trainer if you havent done any BFA intro) - Profit
I’m trying to figure out how I can show you a screenshot on this forum that doesnt allow me to link things, but I can assure you there is no portal. I went back right now to double check.
There absolutely is. I literally just finished the quest. Drop the quest. Exit game. Delete cache folder. Log back in. Pick up quest. Stand there and stare at Ysera. Portal is right next to her.
Done. Didn’t work. No portal. Maybe because I haven’t unlocked Drustvar. Maybe because of some bug. But in any case, you are incorrect that this is a fix.
Then post in the bug forums or check comments on Wowhead. There is ZERO requirement for that quest. The portal DOES exist. My guild mate finished it just before I did and he skipped BfA entirely. His only complaint was lack of flying. Portal was right there by Ysera.
If at some point in time there becomes greater evidence to me than that an alt, who from the outset assumed I was simply blind and posted info counter to the thread’s issue, that this is a bug I will post there too. Until then please dont bother posting anymore if you’re so inclined.
