I thought it was an immortal soul the DH players had?

Some Demon Hunters have immortal Demon Souls like Illidan does (your player is one of them, which is a nice way to explain why you keep coming back from the dead). But most others don’t. So when they die, they’re dead for good.

An immortal soul doesn’t necessarily mean a demonic one, otherwise all players are demons (in a literal sense, not personality wise).

It’s an immortal demon soul. Illidan and the PC DH seem to be unique in that regard

a demon soul is immortal in the sense when their body dies their soul gets hurled into the twisting nether to wander as a fel spirit until they find a body to inhabit again. They are basically demon lite edition. In theory that also means if you destroy their spirit in the nether they should outright cease to exist, though.

You’re all correct. Illidan does refer to the players having an “immortal demon soul” in the quest Enter the Illidari: Shivarra.

Which still means the other tweet was incorrect for saying Man’ari are the first playable demons I think.

Man’ari do not have mortal bodies they inhabit as a demon soul, is the big difference. They are totally transformed and will physically regenerate in the nether, given enough time.
