Mana thistle

Is blizzard gonna address the mana thistle/bot problem?

I have yet to see a single mana thistle in the wild. Maybe some day.
I don’t really care though because honestly elixirs > flasks.

I’m still glad I hoarded A LOT of stacks of these. I still see them enough but there are herbalists everywhere now.

where’s a good spot for them?

They only spawn in areas accessible ONLY to flying mounts. The island in northwest netherstorm, the island in south(east?) SMV where the dragon reputation is (sorry blanking on the name). I want to say the demonic plateau in HFP, and maybe Skettis? Not 100% on those last two, though.

Edit: this isn’t entirely accurate and apparently there are many more spots, not necessarily flying-only.

I’ve gotten 3! I feel so lucky!

I feel like blizz needs to increase respawn chances or make them spawn in more areas. The few areas that can spawn them are perma camped by bots.

Just kill the bots, and if they are same faction organize with the opposite faction to kill them for you

I got a lot from the Twilight Ridge area in Nagrand. I’d semi-afk and get the respawns since they all spawn close together. I’d get the mana thistle and the Dreaming Glory (about 4x more Dreaming Glory). Later when that got more populated I’d got to the Orgrilla area which people don’t like because of the mobs and the cannons.

I’ve also found the mana thistles in the hills by Aldor Rise, Socrethar’s Seat (very camped on my server) in Nagrand, and the Dragonmaw area in SMV. I still fly by these areas and get the thistles sometimes but I haven’t been herbing as much and it is definitely more farmed than when I started, probably because of layers being removed too.

I never see any bots, just real people. They are incredibly easy to camp. They’re on a 5 minute timer and in some areas that means there will be 2 spawns and other areas 1. For example, The two areas in Terokkar always spawn two each, almost exactly 5 minutes from when they were picked. If you’re the one who picked it, you’re the one who knows exactly when the next two are spawning.

I constantly camp them while I’m doing stuff at work. Once you have taken control of the spawn time, you set a timer and you can manage to get them every time usually, because you know exactly when they’re spawning.

There’s no need to “address” anything. There is enough for the server to produce consumables for everyone. They’re just being picked the moment they spawn, every 5 minutes.

Download gatherer addon, import the wowhead data within the addon (no need to go anywhere besides the addon to do this, meaning there’s no goofy import string you need to source)

You now have every mana thistle spawn location on your map.

Wow this is pretty insightful, I didn’t realize the timers were so short. Thanks for the tip.

I got like six stacks.

Seems really easy to farm

which problem? if you mean the botters then yes it was announced coming next week. reducing total number of nodes and spawns of khorium, mana thistle, adamantite, netherbloom by about 45% and increasing respawn to at least 90 minutes on those types

botters wont be able to camp and quickly gather. everyone wins.

Lol I sold 3 this morning for 90 gold each.
This was retail.

My rogue does not have flying yet but one node in Bladesedge mountain, southwest corner of the map spawned near me while farming the fire elementals for notes of fire. The area is extreme southwest corner of the zone.

Interesting, I could have sworn I read that it was only possible to farm mana thistle with flying but I stand corrected. Thanks for the heads up.
