MALEDICT warning

can any of you glads who think glad lossa is for losers tell me how to get the
add-on that gives the maledict warning?

There’s a weakauras you can use actually.

It’s on the most recent skill capped video on if you should change to Nelf or Dwarf. It’s posted on YouTube.

Just use the in game UI to show healing absorbs on your raid frames. o.O

Yes, that works to a certain degree but it won’t tell the difference between DK’s absorbs and Maledicts.

I’m a newbie PvPer (started casually in 8.0 and still pretty casual in 8.1) and I think gladlossa is a MUST for arenas.

Legit question, how do the top players go by with out it? I can see when the target I’m on casts an ability, but when there is a Rogue across the map using Vendetta on my healer, I would never know it unless I had gladlossa to inform me.

Because having someone whisper everything that’s going on in your ear is mostly a crutch and doesn’t encourage people to actually get better at the game just react to something they hear.

Just takes a lot of time and games played. Ideally your teammate would call those kind of cooldowns in voice chat but I also prefer to use TellMeWhen to setup custom auras for Vendetta & Touch of Death so I can see them regardless.

So I’m a gladiator who uses gladiatorlossa. It’s useful, very useful, but I can see how some might view it as a crutch.

Basically when you look at your screen and see cooldowns being popped, you in peripheral vision also see what’s going on in the game, and can synthesize that information.

For example, let’s say mage casts polly. If non fake casting on me I should cast premonition to break it.

If I’m looking at him casting it, I know

Who he’s casting it on
If it’s on me can I move line of sight in time
If it’s on someone else how do I start moving into their line of sight to dispel

Gladiatorlossa will simply tell me it’s being cast and I cast premonition. Great I made a skill capped play but I didn’t have any game awareness. Gladiatorlossa just tells you X and your brain tells you to do Y when maybe Z is better but in real life you don’t have the awareness to notice X fast enough to do Y.
It is in that sense that it’s thought of as a crutch.

To your point I think it’s made me a better player. But I need to at all times still have awareness so that I don’t rely on lossa only. For example every few secs I make sure I know where everyone else is, so that if in next 3 sec lossa calls out a polly I can make a prediction of who he’s casting it on and likelihood that it’ll be interrupted by my teammates.

Morrow covered the reasoning pretty well. It has a lot to do with being aware of what’s happening, to whom, and keeping your eyes moving on the screen to keep positioning and situational awareness high. I don’t need an addon telling me ‘Thorns’ to know that thorns was used etc.

Personally I don’t like gladlosa because I’m almost always in voice with my partners and it’s another background layer of noise when I’m trying to concentrate on what’s happening and communicate with them.

Don’t lie dude you have autobot interrupts, burst notifier, range finder. You probably even have one that tells you what buttons to hit in your rotation.

Just make sure you can macro /sit and /stand. That’s all you need.

very useful for grounding totem or just being ready for it in general while it’s still doing the 1.5 second arm time and in the air

gladiator lossa definitely not worth it if you’re only looking for maledicts and are having no trouble otherwise

There’s a debuff that comes on you so just create a weakaura and that’s that.

Use raidframes and get bigdebuffs the addon

or you can go to wago . io and type in maledict, I personally think it’s lame wheelchair for bad players but it’ll tell you as maledicts used before the travel time so if you’re a noob destrolock you can netherward reflect it
