Male Night Elf Faces (and Other Suggestions)

Honestly I hope not. Their faces need adjusting as a whole.

For reference, most of the request/mega-threads threads die off because the same few people don’t spam it to keep it up.

As long as there’s on-topic conversation and people, even just the same clique, keep showing support, it won’t die.
If it leads to anything though, that’s a matter of if Blizzard cares about how the parent race just got shafted in this.

Oh they sure do. Not only that but the body proportions as well. Night Elf men could look so much better than they do. It’s really a shame. Blizzard needs to address this, it’s only fair after fixing the same issue on Nightborne.

Bumping this topic. Wish more people cared about playing the “ugly elves”. But since they’re often judged as being the “derpy joke race haha funny” as a couple of my friends and exes have said, they tend to lose out. If we had better options for them, they wouldn’t be so disappointing, and we’d likely see more people actually play them.

Really happy to see the issues I have with this model have such warm reception between the players.

I´support this initiative even if I don´t play Nelves.

The Night Elf model has a lot to be desired, and I can see why folk don’t like the scowls. I do hope to see it with a toggle option for a fix (or just new faces) otherwise Fezzy will have to find a new look. T_T

I doubt they’d remove it completely since scowly faces have been there since Vanilla. They’d for sure put a toggle for people who have used those faces for years :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Let’s keep this thread going. Night Elves need some work done.

The way that I feel about the male Nightborne, I also feel about the male Night Elf.

  • Remove the scowls; not only is it unappealing visually, it’s also physically impossible for lips to do this unless you have a deformity.
  • Allow for neutral facial expressions without the angry, furrowed brows.

The silence on this is annoying.

Bug for thee but not for me even though it’s literally the same skeleton.

I really don’t think it’s a bug because the scowl has been there since vanilla. Either way, a toggle/removing it won’t really help the nelf face problem since those 3 faces with it are old

Fix these busted faces Blizzard.

Why haven’t these problems been fixed? Let Night Elf men be sexy.

Lets just make it a toggle so those who are into their slightly angry faces can keep them and those who don’t can have their not angry faces. :stuck_out_tongue: Everyone wins.

I’ll post on my actual night elf that I play instead of my priest.
So! There’s a weird thing about the faces in general. The one I use when I have my NE as a female gets smiley on the login screen and when I first load in sometimes, and after a couple seconds, goes back to scowling. I’m not sure I can re-create it on a whim, but there’s definitely something going on with that.

On another note, sometimes this face I pick for the male version scowls like that, and reverts to the standard neutral-grump. I think the NB faces were done the same way, but they’re the only ones being altered for it.

Let NE males be less of a joke choice please :kissing_heart: even my guildies laugh at the casting animations q_q

Then it wasn’t a bug for Nightborne.

Male Night elves definitely need some love. You can tell they got the least amount of attention in the WoD pass. Compare the first ones, Orcs and Dwarves, to some of the last, Night elf males.

Wait, are you only calling this a bug cause blizz said they’d identified a bug with Nightborne faces?

It was literally the same skeleton as the night elf faces.

They’re “fixing” something that was never a bug in the first place because people cried it was ugly. We called it ugly for longer, but no fix.

The devs lie all the time about stuff, or go back and forth, or use lawyer speak for a reason.

It was never a bug. It was just the model also being ugly because of the same rigging, and they needed an excuse to “fix” it. It’s not even tin foil hat, it’s just a norm in the industry, especially for one that has a running track record of this.

Fix the male nelf faces.
This is ridiculous.

Before WoW, I always thought Thalassians were the ones supposed to look old, as the effects of the arcane makes their hair white and speeds up their aging, but live their very youthful lifestyles, just like the Nightborne

With the support of nature, the wild gods, and Elune, Night Elves should be the ones who look younger, always thought their body cells are replenished every minute. I’ve always assumed druids look old because they don’t groom themselves well enough
