Vanilla Classic was fun if you didn’t play vanilla the first time around. For the rest of us, we were playing real faction war games (DAOC and GW) during vanilla. WPVP in WOW has always been a joke and a back seat to PVE. PVP belongs in BGS. Just as its always was.
And you don’t know that my post means, because you probaly weren’t there, or even born during vanilla. Stay on Grob.
WoTLK PvE is literally designed to be so easy a monkey could complete it, but it makes sense the older you get the less brain cells you naturally have so you cling onto scripted content because you’ll get dogged in any other content that requires you to look away from your DBM or your 3 button rotation.
I’m not wasting my time on Dead Start servers, it’ll be botted heavily day 1 and multiple private server guilds are already planning on griefing it not to mention adding in a PvE server only spreads out what little people even had interest in these servers in the first place.
Maybe there are a lot of us expecting Wrath 2.0 and still have on the rose glasses. But PVP only would have done more damage to the population than good.
I keep stressing that wPVP was non-existent during Wrath 1.0, because it WAS. It wasn’t even on the table for discussion.
Idk I don’t think that many people care, Fresh Start servers aren’t going to last that long people just want to have a good time and WPvP is pretty fun if it’s balanced.
Well this thread wouldn’t seem hijacked if the OP didn’t tuck his tail between his legs and run the moment he faced an opposing opinion, all i’m doing is responding to people at this point just like anyone else.
Fresh never lasts long. It lasted 90 days in Wrath 1.0 and last I checked those servers are still going strong in retail. wPVP would be fun if the game was designed for it. But its not and never was.
Retail isn’t Classic, a lot of the people playing Classic are not looking to completely swap to a new server when the same problems like botting/RMT are going to exist there as well.
I think aside from the WPvP topic, the introduction of the PvE server kinda kills off any sort of balance because it split an already small pool of players.
They should’ve kept a single server, PvP or PvE doesn’t matter. Two servers is just not a good idea.
Yeah, they’re in that tricky place because no matter what side they create the single server for the other side is going to just keep whining and spamming the forums until they get their way.
Just look at the drama the PvE server people caused, like I get it that they want to feel represented but Blizzard can never win with this playerbase sometimes.
Drama and WOW go hand-in-hand lol.
PVP and PVE populations have been split since Everquest. When any game tries to mix the two it never ends well. There’s a very long list of games that have tried.
Skyfury is already leaning alliance and one of the largest guilds on that server has already advocated for controlling the market and pushing off the other faction. So far its looking like 55% Ally - 45% Horde
Despite that. I still don’t see these as dead on arrival, because if a heavily one sided server = dead on arrival, then the majority of existing servers would be considered dead…
Two dead servers within 6 months. If blizzard wants to preserve these servers they should offer no transfers to them for longer than 90 days. Fresh will be fresh for 80% of phase 1 than it’ll be a GDKP paradise
