SO… Maladath (fresh pve) players, now that Blizzard has caved… What faction are YOU (or your predetermined/organized guild) playing (and if you have a reason why)?
I’m not interested in what you think other, random, complete strangers will do, or how you think the server will lean… You, or people you play directly with, who have decided… What (and again if possible how) did you make your decision?
I’m personally not too worried about PVP (I’ll do it, I just won’t make my decision based on it) Also PERSONALLY not as worried as I generally would be with absolute min/max (I server 1sted all but 1 raid in WLK, and only missed it because the birth of my kid, I’m genuinely trying to be more casual, and have fun this time around)
BUT I find myself extremely torn about faction since I’m looking for a more “fun” approach (frankly the super tryharding, min max to the extreme I put on myself ruined “classic” the second go around for me (vanilla being my 1st) , which is how I ended up here on fresh) we’re days away and I’m up at 2am (now 3 and counting) worried about which faction so I can map out my plans (sounds tryhard I know, but I’m detailed oriented by nature)
Hoping for a little inspiration here, thanks in advance

It won’t matter anyways what you go because fresh servers have a life span of 90 days as that is when transfers will eventually open for all the bots and gold sellers to take over.
You also have to consider that a PvE server was an absolute mistake, not enough people play Classic as it is and splitting the two fresh populations will further divide the players so congratulations the people that whined about it until they added in PvE essentially ensured their own failure.

Well I don’t have a helpful answer for this. So I’ll just say:
The moment I decided to abandon my “main” etc (oh and no this isn’t it) and go fresh… I decided a few things.
I’m only going to play one character. I know what class and I know the name if I can get it. The faction is up in the air and I can go either way. I even spent a few days on the Beta server playing through the starting zones of both.
I lean toward Alliance because I like the race better (no it’s not human for the curious). On the other hand I’ve spent far less time playing Horde over the years.
See I told you this wouldn’t be helpful… Personally I’ll decide in the mad rush to grab names or in my case a name.

No, the mistake was making the one server that was originally planned mandatory PVP.
far better to have one fresh server that is PVE. . .because anyone who wanted to “world PvP” could just turn on their toggle. . .

LOL, that’s exactly why I’m trying to decide now… I wanna make sure I’ve made up my mind/set in stone when that name race takes off (so I’m quick enough to get what I want)
I too am leaning alliance, but for the opposite reason. I was horde last time I did this =P
I’d say no such thing as a bad response, but the salty pvpers who feel the need to try to make people feel bad for how they wanna play a video game exist- so not exactly true

I just like the way Draenei look and I don’t care about min/max at this point in my life. So that’s why I lean towards Alliance.
As stated I don’t plan to have alts and if I do it will be a bank alt. So for me with the focus on just playing one character and having fun… I’m probably going with the one I like to play.
Then the thoughts about playing Horde creep in… I think a lot of that is about my anticipated population levels per faction. However, this thread isn’t supposed to be about that, so I didn’t want to get into it.

I’ve seen 3 types of trolls in my 1/2 a day(ish) on the forums about this topic (pve fresh) now
The I’m gonna post on an empty account with 0 achievement points (meaning new or burner) account who doesn’t have the conviction to type on his main because how absurd his BS trolling is
The I’m gonna pretend I’m a pvper despite my highest rating being 1100 (true story, rogue on every post earlier today bragging about his pvp prowess… till we fact checked his account XD)
and The I’m 2400 on my private server with 400 active players I’m super good just watch
None of them impressed me enough to warrant a direct response… best thing we can all do is put them in timeout, by never responding to their BS… they’ll eventually get tired of being the kid who eats alone at lunch and learn to cohabitat, or leave- either way we’re better off ignoring

Fresh Servers is a niche, most of the people already playing aren’t going to roll on there because guaranteed to die off at the 90 day point when they open transfers.
The fact that neither of you can see how damaging spreading the already low amount of people going to Fresh between two servers instead of one means that when this ship sinks I will have a front row seat in a couple months to the crying and whining that your server died and you have to pay $35 to transfer out

“have fun have fun have fun”… but what if it’s 100x easier to get a group for a raid or dungeon on the other side, and I didn’t really have a preference to begin with starts to creep in for me
I don’t care if it’s 50/50, 100/0, 0/100… but I also don’t wanna pick the wrong side of the fence if it does skew extreme 1 way, perfect world it’s 50/50 and everyone gets to organically choose (what I’m kinda to trying to judge with this thread, kinda get a headcount)… but when is it ever a perfect world
Fresh is DoA now that they caved and made too many servers yet again.
lmao Blizzard caved. Now we won’t have a second balanced server. One will be full alliance the other full horde. Good Job blizzard you messed up.
What’s amazing is the fact you waste your time even trolling this post. Let’s be honest it’s what you’re doing. You bring nothing to the conversation that was started except extreme negativity. So what if people want to start on fresh start servers? That is none of your business, it isn’t your money to control. If you don’t have anything positive to say about Blizzard why exactly are you still paying for your sub?

I don’t really know how I’m going yet, probably horde but still a little on the fence. I’m going paladin and I think I prefer horde as a faction, but BE is not my favourite race. We will see.
As for two servers ruining fresh, I think if we don’t have enough people to support two servers fresh would be dead anyway. Pvp and pve are completely different, it sucks to force people who don’t like pvp to play on a pvp server. As for faction balance I think it’ll be fine on the pve server (I hope), and hopefully on the pvp though pvpers seem more likely to min max when it comes to race, so who knows?

I don’t care about you or the posters on this topic, I responded with reality and how I felt about the situation.
If you can’t handle that then there’s plenty of posts you can go to where you can coddle each other, I don’t care for that.
That’s why I find it easier to apply the forever ignore. It gets the useless clutter out of threads and makes them easier to read.
If someone is making a valid or at least logical point… even if I disagree I’ll read it. I just get sick of having my time wasted with useless clutter. As well as applying muted to clutter threads so they drop off my list of discussions.

My group of 8-10 and I are going alliance. We have found this neat little guild that has around 20 other players so far. All aimimg for alliance side on maladath.
