Making Shadow lands Pvp great, and the flaws it has as of now

There is no PvP director.

Wow PvP is PvP designed by mythic raiders for mythic raiders. It’s just another source of free stuff for the elite PvEers who would stop doing it if their gear didn’t give them a gigantic advantage over average PvPers.

Believe it or not the game is a massive world broken into zones. The zones are huge and mostly unique showing off brilliantly designed landscapes a vistas. They’re populated by cities, towns, lakes, rivers, NPC’s, quests, dungeons, critters, monsters and archaeology. There’s an adventure around every corner.

There are also people who chase themselves around pillars in a few arenas.

its not that hard to fix this, all they need to do is make it, that pvp gear when used in pvp jump to a higher item level so people that are doing Mythic raiding can still come in and do good, but still wont out gear the top ranked teams and vise versa. Top tier pvp teams can still walk in to a Mythic raid but there item level will be still 20 item levels less on all there gear and disable all on hit or on use effects unless they are Enchants or they are pvp trinks. Ion if you happen to read this comment please look to the PVP community for help, most of us just want our Horde back.

The game is built on two factions fighting yet nowadays we’ve been reduced to fighting over world firsts. Solo Q is horrendous, upwards of 30min for a bg pop. The core point of the game we constantly revisit is conflict every expansion, yet PvP isn’t considered a core part of the game? I know there isn’t “lore” per say in PvP, but there is something about slaughtering alliance and doing it in the name of the Horde. Dying for the Horde and enacting vengeance on my killer is a feeling that no other aspect of the game can give me. #MakePvPGreatAgainXD

I just want to pvp and not have to do multiple mythic dungeons every week to farm for pieces of gear. I should be able to just farm my full set of blues from bg’s and do arena and cap to get my first piece of conquest gear like the old days. I’m done with WoW if pvp is like bfa pvp.

Truth , and as the person stated in reply , there is indeed a pvp stat. Its versatility. You stack nothing but Vers and with any luck at drops haste. The vendor does indeed need to have more variation of stats on the gear.

Did I blink and miss this?

The simple point is BC through MOP people cried about. No everyone had multiple sets equipment as you said. People wanted a uniform set of equipment so they did away with just PVP gear.

Wait they didn’t add vendors in shadowlands?

We do, I Think the gear they provide is just inferior to gear obtained in pve, or that it takes Longer to obtain.

Either way it’s shaping up to be another pve grind for pvp players.

As someone whose sole interest in retail WoW lies in rated PvP, this is ridiculous. And mostly the reason why I haven’t played retail in some time. Season 4 BFA is a nightmare not only with corruption and RNG drops and RNG secondary stats, the conquest cap box sucks, 9 times out of 10 gives crap you won’t use.

Feeling like I need to try and get into Heroic/Mythic raids every week, and run at least a +15 mythic dungeon every week in order to try and get gear that will make my climbing of the arena ladder even remotely possible, stupid.

I have 0 interest in raids and mythic dungeons.

Why do you insist on essentially forcing people into content they couldn’t give a crap about, in order to do the content they want to do?

I have been playing WoW faithfully since 2004, and have not once posted on a forum, until now.

Please stop making players feel they need to do content they don’t want to do.

Couldn’t have said it any better.

I feel your pain. On classic until the state of retail improves.

Such a cathartic response to read. I always initially farmed pvp to start gearing back in the day, as it was much less monotonous and more fun to me. Then with a higher ilvl and gearscore, I would go do PvE and do less damage than someone else in blues, because they knew their rotation and their secondary’s were optimized. Being worse than someone else gives you drive not make you quit. But then I would invite that person to do some pvp with me, and they’d be begging for help. It felt good to have differences you could work to even out if you so chose, and it fostered friendships too. You always used to have that one pvp friend you knew could roll over bg’s with you. PvP is one of the things Blizz did RIGHT early on, and it brought them a TON of pvp players. I wouldn’t be surprised if at least half of the lost subs over the years are pvp’ers with how much they’ve been shafted to the side.

I don’t get it, I just don’t get it. Why in the world Blizzard do not learn from past mistakes? I’ve always liked to PvP, back in WotLK and Cataclysm right before I dropped playing WoW for GOOD (due to hating new expansions that kept coming and having a life outside games) until returning now on BfA due to covid disgrace, I always felt good with how PvP gear worked and how it was justifiable to grind on PvP for them, also they had unique looking appearances. Now we have to play on Mythic+, go Raiding, and this sucks! I really don’t like the way that Blizz keeps throwing things we don’t want at us.

Thanks god I didn’t bought SL yet, if they don’t fix PvP gearing from vendors, I’m not gonna buy this expansion. I’m not interested in Sylvannas sh!t, Jailer bull^&*!, I just want to PvP on both BGs and Arena at the time. I want to go with my friends, without having to commit my life like a job, that’s all.

I’m done with the path this lore took (enjoyed it until cataclysm) and this OBLIGATION to learn scripted fights against NPCs just to gear isn’t something I’m willing to continue doing on a new expansion that was set to be “the best expansion yet” to fix the errors from BfA.

Resilience, relevant ilvl, pvp trinket set bonuses. PvP should have its own progression and meaningful systems/gear. I don’t expect to walk into a mythic raid in pvp gear and top meters or get world first so a mythic raider should not walk into my playground and get free gladiator because of elevated ilvl and broken trinkets etc. I can play both forms of content and not be the best because I don’t wanna invest time progressing myself. How it always was and should be. Nothing stops us from content crossing we just have a bit of a edge in the desired content we focus on aka progression and meaningful loot.

In Ye Goode Old Days PvP gear was specifically designed for use in PvP. I remember back in Wrath that if a player turned up for dungeons or raids in PvP gear they were scoffed at or kicked. That was because a PvP stat took the place of a PvE stat on a piece of gear. While the gear made you more powerful in PvP, you were less so in PvE because of that missing stat.

Now, I don’t do as much pvp as others, so I wonder whether that sort of thing would work if it was put back into the game now. If you could earn currency in pvp that allowed you to buy that sort of PvP gear, do you think it would work well nowadays? Perhaps rather than the special PvP stat, if there was an extra ability that provided a boost in some way in PvP but which had a negative effect in PvE?
