Making gold

I’m willing to invest the time, I’d just like to be efficient (which as of now, I am not). I also didn’t play at all practically between MoP and 9.1.5, so I’m essentially starting fresh. I also do the command table, fine and good, but not raking in the big bucks.

Make sure you get the Blessing of the Genesii giro buff. That boosts PoG Essence drop rates from chests and gathering nodes. When you open your Patterns within Patterns chest make sure you have that buff to get a Pog Essence.

You should! It’s a nice break from current content and can be a refreshing trip down memory lane….and you earn a ton of gold.

During the early days of SL I got my ‘Druid’ on and made one of every race available. I don’t regret it at all and made so much more gold than I had in all the years prior.

If you like tanking and survivability, make one of every tank class. Even if you don’t use them all, the ones you do will be a boon to your economy. Find your fun and the gold will flow.

Also watch all prices of materials. On my server you can buy herbs cheap on a Saturday then resell for small gold profits on Tuesday

Also check on your auction posts. The AH works with last in first out.

Someone could post over you and steal your sales. So periodically check the AH, take your post down if someone placed over you and post over them.

The best time to make gold is early during an expansion. I made millions of gold selling the engineering rez item early in shadowlands.

It’s never been easier to make gold than right now. You don’t need any professions or ah addons, just fly around ZM doing nothing but looting chests for Progenitor Essentia. On my server at least if you sell around 5 of these it pays for the 291 leggo. I get 3 or so an hour.

Also selling lattices from ZM (needed to mounts and pets) sell pretty well.

just get herbalism and mining

That’s a work in progress lol, I’m probably gonna devote most of my time this week to getting flying and leveling my pocopoc console. Then maybe the big bucks will start rolling in.

There is a pocopop tree on the left that boosts Pog Essence drop rates. Fill that out. And like I stated earlier get the Blessing of the Genesii buff from the other Giro. It significantly helps drop rates

Time played is the biggest Stat factor to making gold. Keep that in mind when considering people’s opinion.

It’s a popular trope to say you make hundreds of thousands while just playing 10 minutes every other Monday

OP, do you run your mission table?
You can make a nice chunk of gold doing that and get free augment runes(or sell them) along with extra crafting materials to sell or use.
More alts of course = more gold but a single character should be making 100k+ a month if you’re doing callings and weekly quests. That’s not even factoring in any paragon caches you may get which are 3500+ gold each or other drops and gathering professions.

SL has been pretty forgiving for making gold.

Gathering could get you big bucks. Need to focus on what is needed on the AH and go for it. Skip the new zone, not worth it.

There are 4 zone specific herbs, gather them depending on which one is low supply/high price and sell them. Don’t bother with Alch, selling herbs better. If you cannot decide, use addons. Worthit will tell you which farm is better gph.

Don’t expect any lower. The mats alone costs about that much. It is probably the best time to buy legos as most people who were not able to sell their stuck dumping them at near crafting cost.

Yeah, with being in school I can log maybe 3-4 hours a day if I sacrifice an unhealthy amount of sleep, maximum is maybe 1-2 hours. I can dedicate much more on weekends however.

I do, but only the missions that give straight gold or something useful. I also get augment runes from CTA since my 2nd 60 is a healer. They’re cheap anyway, 100g-150g max a pop.

I don’t. 80k for the slot I need is the minimum I expect, and that’ll be in a while. Right now its about 110k cost for 1 that I’m looking at.

I’ve decided that’s the first order of business, I need to actually progress in ZM anyway since I haven’t done anything after getting pocopoc.

I sell all my greys and it’s normally 3-4k depending on how long I quest. I use sell junk for that. I’ve noticed the greys are worth a lot more in SL.

I know a lot of people don’t pick up their greys. This isn’t a complete solution but might be helpful

If you want the gold, you will have to do it the way Blizzard intended and buy a (well, several) tokens.

I have a main and three alts, I do the Callings everyday unless it is to the maw or torghast. My four mission boards are looked at only once a day. I rarely post on the AH. And I have over five million gold. The last expansion I bought the AH mount.
I don’t buy off of the AH except for the legendary(s). My alts feed my main flasks and augment runes and so on.
That is all I know how to do, play the game given and run my lowbie alts through the callings.

I have three main sources of income:

  • Cloth farming in Bastion - About 1500g per hour on average. Concentrating on Forsworn humanoids and Stewards around the Nmonic Locus and the Great Forge. I make bags from the lightless silk, and sell the shrouded cloth. Don’t bother with shrouded cloth bags. I disenchant the greens and sell the weapon drops. 20g greys drop a lot. Have had occasional 190-207 purple BoEs drop off Stewards and Researchers.

  • Skinning in world quest areas and Korthia - Up to 5000g per hour. I haven’t been to Korthia in a while, but when grommit, devourer or bear killing dailies are active you can’t skin fast enough to keep up. It can be very lucrative. Otherwise look for any world quests that involve killing creatures and just hang out there.

  • Herbalism and alchemy - $$$ Varies wildly by server. I find flasks of power to have the best return on time and material investment. Shadowcore oil and health potions will use up excess Death Blossom.
