The toons that advertise for carry web sites could be hindered even more by taking away trade chat unless they level that toon to 20 or 30. This wouldn’t impact new players as they have new player chat. They can’t use lfg to post stuff now we have to take away trade from them. They are all level 1 with random as hell names so it’s obvious the solution

a lot of people’s bank characters are under 20 - so no. There is no real reason you need trade chat on if you don’t want to trade

not enough of an issue to ruin the game for others plus you have a number of solutions the easiest one if you insist on using trade is an addon

Problem with that is, and I’m sure it’s already been pointed out, bank alts are usually level 1. Also, guilds from other realms that offer carries for exclusive or unique items, always use a level 1 to advertise on other realms.

Patch 9.1.5
New characters cannot join trade or looking for group channels until 30 days later.
Must be level 50 to participate in those channels. Upon the 30 days, you get a total of 20 posts in said channels.
At 60 days, you gain unlimited posts. Can’t post more than 2 posts per 5 minutes.
Is that restrictive enough?

you are on stormrage - stormrage trade chat would normally be terrible anyway
I see your point but I disagree that players should need an add-on or even worse, to actually completely turn trade and general chat off to avoid spammers.
Sure, it would prohibit low level bank alts from talking in trade but really how hard is it to just use your bank alt as a mule then switch back over to you main to chat.
If it would prevent all the unnecessary spam from gold/carry sellers so we can all get back to the good ole days of enjoy Chucky Norris and Murloc jokes, then I’m all for it!
The impact on players would legitimately be minimal compared to the amount of nonsense it would stop.

i only trade on my bank character and it is a lvl 19 twink and I am not leveling it up because I worked at getting a set of twink gear.
I see all kinds of crap on trade that isn’t carry spam that I don’t want to see - can I get rid of RPs too on Moonguard? so yes, the solution is an addon

The purpose of trade chat is to trade things. Included in trade things, is sell things. Included in sell things, is carries. seems like its working as intended

Anyways, you must think there is some possibilities to it or you wouldn’t be worried about having to “level your 19 Twink”.

However, on topic, if something like this were implemented, between this and the new player chat, it would likely go far towards getting “slash two” back to a reasonable state of affairs.
If the worst drawback is having to log off your mule to chat then I say “Gopher it!”.
