Guy in my guild operates 3 toons to offer Summons. He said he had to raise his prices because a lot of people think he’s a bot and just take the summons without paying. People always gotta ruin a good thing. Remember when they were 50 silver a summon?
I’ll be honest, I’m shocked Warlocks can even make 1g a summon. The fact they need 2 other players though makes these summoners seem more mostly like some grimy stuff.
It is wild how many whispers I get if I’m in Badlands especially. If I didn’t require other players, I’ve summon all of you for free <3
Join group, get summoned, leave group, don’t pay.

And this right here is why Warlocks will continue to charge more than 1g. Our time is valuable too, y’know. Soulshards aren’t free.

We just gonna pretend you aren’t watching youtube on the other screen while you hit Ctrl+V > Enter every 30-60 seconds and wait for WIM windows to pop? (Assuming you don’t have some other addon that just handles spamming Trade/LFG & whispers for you…)
It only takes 1 human and 3 accounts to do it.
yeah, well i keep getting whispers to kill mobs for warlocks to collect soul shards for pitful offers of like 4g for 50 shards. i dont have sympathy for your easy money method. 2/3rd of the warlocks are bots anyway.

If I buy a summon, it’s because I need to shave off 10+ minutes off the journey for some reason… (Typically the sleeping bag quest, or needing to get to UC when I’m in Feralas or Tanaris, and Astral Recall is on full CD: not often)
and I purposely have a few questions or comments to see if it’s a bot or a person.
If I detect bot: I’ll just nvm.
I find this even worse. It makes a little more sense to me if someone is using a group they are in, or if they are running around with friends. In STV event for instance, I’ve used my team to bring up a summon stone, for another team to summon his people, free of course. It ain’t no thang, ya dig.
But the thought of someone paying for 3 sperate accounts, just so he can use them together to summon people is super funny and cringe to me.
But hey, we all play, our way, and that’s okay!
wait…you pay for accounts? how do you not have several years of sub time built up via gold to wow token transactions from wotlk classic/retail?
Anyone who actually does/did this also make no sense to me.
In every expansion, I’m always under gold from what it seems like everyone else has. I tend to not buy gold, grind what I need, and mainly PvP. Like, all of Phase 2, I haven’t gone over 30 gold and right now have about maybe 20 gold. Seeing Gut Rippers on the AH for 2000 gold, I know I’ll never get that on any character.
I don’t get how people are stacking gold, unless it’s a PvE thing. My gold is used buying potions, sometimes mats for bombs or bandages, etc in PvP. I get my gold for that grinding some PvE while PvPing in open world. There is no time for me “in my eyes” to dedicate gold making time just so I can save on my $15 or whatever per month.
Some people do that and triple it up for 3 accounts? lol na ty though!
I usually offer 1g and they’ll summon me anyways. When I summon I don’t ask for gold (just to spite the crazy prices). Tips appreciated.
On another note the LFG Summon spam is just insane. I’ve blocked approximately 50,000 messages in the past 3 weeks using my global ignore custom filter. I highly recommend the addon. Unfortunately you’ll need to create your own spam filter for summons.
Yeah the only time I’ll pay more than a gold is to somewhere that’s a ***** to get to. (Like the Dam which is a ***** for Horde.)
And even then, it’s 2g at most.
What you are going to do is get people blacklisted from Warlock summons by doing that, and it is quite dishonest.
