If you go fast (like brrrr vigor regen fast), and you press your airbreak, you regen a vigor point if you have collected the Forbidden Reach points. I use it all the time when gathering herbs. Only problem is that sometimes it doesn’t seem to trigger

I would love if they would just remove the CD of Soar and either increase the charges of Skyward Ascent and Surge Forward.
Also if you could use this ability while moving or falling that would make the gameplay so rich, imagine just jumping off of a tower in the forbidden reach and activating Soar mid air. I would even add an ability called nose dive and you would need to gain speed after doing a nose dive to activate soar mid air.

Not only would I like Soar to mirror Dragonriding, I would also like for the ability to activate Soar while Gliding (outside of combat) and to be able to Dive while Gliding.

Even allowing the CD to start as soon as you take flight would be a win, I should not have to wait another minute after I land to fly again after I’ve been flying for some time.

Soar being unnecessarily gimped for the entire expansion thus far has really just put a sour taste in my mouth regarding the class. What could be just pure sunshine and roses, happiness and enjoyment, is instead just left with one big question: why bother?
Does blizzard really have such a hate on for any class besides druids being able to utilize wings to any extent?
I don’t know who the designers for evokers are, but I wish they would just stop, take a step back, and hand over design to someone who actually enjoyed the class. You know how people “hate watch” certain tv programs? I feel like the evoker devs are hate developing the class at this point. They are like, forced to do something they don’t want to, they hate it so much the idea of placating the player base actually enrages them.
They will at some point change soar, but who will be left to play the class when that finally happens is the real question?

Seeing a moonkin use “Flap” is all the proof I need that wings are irrelevant to Blizz and logic < developer’s fav class in terms of game design.

I’d like to know to because it feels like a mandate instead of consensus.
Their stated reasoning for not allowing it to be like dragon riding is pretty flimsy as well, they were worried about old world content and people being able to do pet battles too quickly… a reason so pathetic I’m honestly shocked they said it out loud.
If more people played evoker it’d be up there with “you think you do but you dont” levels of obliviousness.

I’m subscribed to the theory that they’re keeping it locked up as a “Break Glass in Case of Emergency” thing to reel people back in if numbers drop too much. Make people go “Wow they’re really listening to us!” -(half a year later)

Blizzard sniffs their farts too much to learn anything, Twiggys. They have no ability to actually do what’s right for the fan base. It’s bad enough we pay $15 a month to beta test.
I mean the Hoard Dracthyr flew from the Dragon islands to Orgrimar…they should be their own mount

No they wouldn’t, we both know that. They’d claim it was a random developer idea.
10.2.5: Cooldown for Soar is reduced to only 10 seconds. Familiar Skies has been removed.
There’s a lot of contention on this and for good reason - why is there a 10 sec cd at all? Testing this on the PTR, if you accidentally touch the ground/get caught on a branch/environmental obstruction, you end up standing there awkwardly instead of being able to immediately right yourself.
If there’s a good reason for it, we’d like to hear it, because it feels like one of those arbitrary limitations Blizzard puts on anything that’s enjoyable.

I dont get 10 second cooldown either. Is druids on ptr atm? Like to see how theres is when they land like if its full ground speed or cooldowns.
I’m very happy we will be able to actually fly like dragons instead of dragons riding other dragons awkwardly.
But yeah, why the 10 second cooldown? Why are Blizz so afraid of giving us free reign?

Probably because soar still has the initial upwards launch, about equivalent to a skyward ascent, but doesn’t actually cost 1 vigor. This is likely to combat some shenanigans like using soar to just leap places without expending vigor.
