It’s literally that simple. I can’t stress it enough how many people just refuse to play solo shuffle because they have friends(crazy right? especially in an MMO) an don’t want to play by themselves. Get rid of the “solo” in solo shuffle and make it a flex que. No other game that offers duos, trios, or quads prevents you from queing with your friends, or puts you in a completely separate game mode to auto fill you with other players. Make shuffle flex ques, allow me to que up with a buddy/buddies and it’ll help revive it.
Before you say, “oh well, the group of 2/3 have an advantage!” well, yea, no duh. However, it’s the same thing in every other competitive game. You dont think the squad of 3 playing trios in fortnite is going to have a slight advantage over the trios of players who all qued up solo and hit auto fill? Imagine being upset for others making friends in an MMO. Solo shuffle/bg blitz already took away the social aspect of this game.
edit: It wouldn’t be a 6 round shuffle, but a 1 round only thing. Didn’t think i’d have to specify that.
Queue actual rated instead. There’s zero reason to allow any sort of flex queue in solo shuffle in its current format given that, at a minimum, 50% of your games would have the person you queued with on the opposite team.
Would be pointless. All for ideas getting tossed out, but a team of 3 people with a real comp vs a random team of players with a random comp is going to get stomp 99% of the time.
They just need to improve LFG so that a solo experience is possible.

What if you could enter in the criteria of what you wanted to play with, experience/rating, and then just queue up. It matches you with what you’re looking for and you can keeping queueing together or stop.
It seems like you’re quite illiterate so I’ll break it down for you. Que times would drop if you could que for 3’s with a buddy.(again I know that’s hard for you to grasp, having no friends and all) having rated 3’s on top of a solo shuffle just splits the playerbase, and that’s already being proven with how inactive 3’s are getting.
While solo or in an incomplete group, you click the 3v3 or 2v2 button as if you were in a group. You get an option menu with radio buttons of all the classes/specs. You check which ones you’re willing to play with, and it binds you to regular arena roles, i.e. no more than 1 healer, etc. The game then puts you or your incomplete group into the queue pool and fills your group with the closest mmr player that meets your criteria.
Yes, you are queueing into the same 2s/3s pool as the people that are playing with friends or from LFG.
No, regular LFG wouldn’t need to go away. Think about this more as a way to streamline LFG instead of replace it. If you’re a 2300 hunter/disc, you’ll still probably want to find your glad push feral partner in regular lfg, for example.
Yes, you’ll be in queue longer if you have a narrower filter.
Yes, if you’re playing something very off-meta, you’re probably going to have longer queue times than people playing meta specs. However, you’re already sitting in LFG for much longer as an off-meta spec while looking for your 1 comp. This solution isn’t designed to fix that problem, and class balance as a whole is the solution to that problem whether this system were to exist or not.
IMO, this is the best way to increase participation in regular 2s and 3s. Make it almost as simple to get into as blitz or shuffle. Its a net positive for the players who are already playing with organized groups, because there will be an influx of unorganized teams in the ladder for you to beat. Is also a great opportunity for people who don’t have achievements to occasionally get matchmade with partners close to their mmr/cr who have higher achievements that might not have ever picked them out of LFG to play with.
Literally just a queue option where you can play as 1, 2 or 3 and it puts you vs higher mmr solo players if you can’t queue into another premade or partial premade that’s it
It’d have its share of issues but it’d pop which is nice
If seasons were shorter I think they could consolidate shuff/3s for a season into a sort of flex mode like this just to try it
Yeah that would not work at all because the two of you playing matches against each other while grouped would be unfair to the rest of the lobby that isn’t coordinated/communicating. Like actually inviting “win trading” scenarios.
Yes really. If you only ever queue into other solo/flex teams, you’re playing a different game within the same ladder as the people who are in premade groups. Or, you are making an entirely different ladder for another solo arena game mode. Both of those are more complicated than just effectively automating the LFG system into the existing ladders.
