Make Enhancement a Tank

When i started playing WoW, Warriors were forced to wear mail armor up until level 40. We were so squishy… Other classes were making fun of us… Every Warrior was demoralized, there was no need for demoralizing shout back then.

Blizzard finally changed armor type to plate, even at low level.
NOW, WE ARE STRONG AND PROUD!

Because Warrior were DESIGNED to wear plate.

Shaman never were.

Mail didn’t make you squishy, being a lowbie and not wearing the armor you were meant to wear did that.

Edit: Also, you DID also understand that Leather is INFERIOR to Mail, yes?

Links of chain are used, and they do not offer as many holes as you think they do.

Blizzard should watch the scene from Avenger’s Endgame where Captain America has both his shield and Thor’s hammer when fighting Thanos. I think that’s enough proof enhancement can be a tank spec.

I could totally see enhance turning into earthwarden.

No.

We want a 4th spec, not destroying this one for that.

Just no.

4th specs are a pipedream though. I’d rather have earthwardens than elemental retribution paladins any day.

??

I’m always GCD locked and find it hard to spend maelstrom sometimes… not sure how you think it needs more maelstrom

Earth!

Fire!

Wind, Water, Heart!

how about a new 4th spec for shamans.

Earth warder: tank. uses 2h maces or axes. Uses primarily earth magic with bits of the other elements.

i always pictured a shaman tank using a lot of slows and roots, possibly even rooting themselves in the earth to tank better

Add a 4th spec, don’t pull another Hunter number and nix a perfectly fine spec, simply add another one, if simply is the right term here, maybe not.

I won’t give up my spec on a different pipe dream.

If we are talking pipe dreams, I’d rather go the 4th spec route.

I agree. I feel like I have more than I can use, and sometimes I feel like I have to wait to reapply my fire buff so I can Lava Lash.

Somewhere a dh is crying and Mortis is laughing.

No, enhancement doesnt need to be gutted to turn it into a tank spec.

However, a 4th spec allowing for shaman tanks would be very welcome. We already have enhancement focused around lightning/wind, elemental focused around lava/fire, and resto focused on water, give us an earth based tank spec IMO.

And, I’ll use this as a shameless plug for the idea i posted on the shaman forums regarding this a while back:

The earth based tanking spec for shaman would use shield/1h, or possibly shield/2h. Many attacks would be similar to what elemental or enhancement have, but utilize the shield (for example, instead of lava burst / lava lash, the tank spec would have “lava bash” which slams the target with your lava-enhanced shield). Other shield-attacking ideas: Storm Slam (aoe lightning damage paired with a shield slam attack), Stone charge (dash forward with your shield raised and sprouting spikes of stone from the ground around you to stun/knock down enemies).

Mastery: Stone Golem
The earthwarden summons a stone golem that attacks his enemies in battle. The golem -does not- taunt or pull threat for the shaman, but instead a percentage (based on mastery) of all damage taken by the shaman is instead dealt to the golem, and a percentage (also based on mastery) of all damage done by the shaman is converted to healing for the golem.

The golem would change in appearance based on the shaman’s race/faction. Examples would be the stone golems used by the dark iron dwarves or in titan related dungeons vs the voodoo-enchanted golems found in troll/zandalari areas.

More like, with how Retribution Paladins are today, they were ripping off Enhancement Shamans since even the days of WotLK…

I’m saying to generate Maelstrom a smidgen faster than currently, and likewise, dump it a lot faster than currently is allowed. Trust me, I am well aware you spend it very slowly.
