Make Enhancement a Tank

600k health, lightning armored, windfury tank that can mass electrocute enemies, lowering thier damage output. The possibilities are endless… I think it would be a fun spec.

Please, no. I like my elemental dual-wielding, semi-spell casting melee pseudo-summoner. Leave it alone.

And: More people would play it if Elemental wasn’t so braindead easy and always the top DPS spec for the class, in addition to Melee classes/specs elsewhere being much better options over-all.

Buff it, and it wouldn’t be so bad. It used to be a very highly sought-after specialization, especially for Ranked Arenas. But since those days, it’s only gotten lower and lower. In my honest opinion, it uses too many procs to deal competent damage; Maelstrom is too slow to build compared to literally every other class’ resource bar (And dumping all Maelstrom both takes too long, and doesn’t give you enough damage for the effort); and Windfury does way too little damage to cover the stagnant damage it does outside of those infrequent/unreliable procs.

No.

I want a 4th spec.

4 elements, 4 specs. The tank spec can be based around Earth.

Don’t you touch my melee spec, yo.

not a bad idea, but why make a fourth spec that only 50 people will play?

Bet?

If they didn’t royally jack it up, you’d have more than just 50 people playing it. Trust.

Or, you can make enhance do actual damage and not have a chore of a rotation and more than 100 people would play it.
I miss my enhance.

You’re doing it wrong.

Enhance is looking to be one of the best specs in 8.3, and it’s not the first time this xpac either.

I LOVE enhancement. I don’t mind the rotation, but I hate that only dealing damage comes with enhanced Stormstrike. Lava Lash used to deal a figurative crapload of damage, but it feels so dull; Like hitting a World’s Strongest Man with a wet noodle when you’re only 5 years old. The abilities are nice; The aesthetics for spells are cool, imvho. I love the, what is it… Storm Clash? Something… The aoe lightning attack that makes Stormstrike AoE for a short duration… I love that spell, and more.

But the entire specialization is just way underpowered to be anywhere near relevant.

That’s probably only because Windfury exists, and it counts as a “hit” for Corruption effects.

Shaman needs a tank spec based on earth, and monk needs either RDPS based on lightning and fire, or a healer that plays like Discipline.

Ox: tank
Tiger: dps
Snake: heals
Crane: ???

How about a big fat “No”.

Not the problem with enhance, damage is completely fine.

Yeah, this needs fixing. With enough haste procs it feels decent (which would go for any class) but the constant need to apply flametongue and frostbrand throughout fights is just tiresome.

Agreed,

Been thinking of what it’d be called though, Earth-Warder or Geomancer?

Geomancer is a general elemental caster, kind of what we already are.

Earth Warden is a little generic, but I don’t have a better name for them.

This is a basic idea (not mine) that was thought up for an Earth based tank. It needs more fleshing out, but it was a pretty good start.

flagged? wow guys.

If Enhancement dealt damage outside of procs for Lava Lash and Stormstrike, and Maelstrom was generated around 1.75x faster than it does, and didn’t take so long to deplete, it would be a much more fluid specialization, I think.

Mail is not resistant enough to make a Shaman a tank, you either need some super plate or some hard invulnerable leather (enhanced with fel or nature protection magic).

Mail is metal, it’s better protection that straight leather.

If you know anything about armor, it’s literally chain OVER leather, which makes it better by default.

This game toyed with a cloth tank before. This game gave Shaman shields which are useless. We need to be tanks, and infusing our armor with Earth power would be a GREAT way to be tanks.

Well for the purpose of arguing: there is no Tank with mail, but there is plenty with plate and leather. Mail just have too many holes that can be used by an attacker to insert pointy objects or to sneak in magic shenanigans.

Which is the exact reason why there SHOULD be a Mail wearing tank.

I’ve already explained this.
