PvP Bannable PvP Ban PvP PVP Bannable PVP is Bannable PVP. suggest pvp
And with this immensely verbose implementation, why had you not considered that perhaps Blizzard settled with Warmode system instead? A system that is far more appealing to PVE players to compensate for their mistake.
But yeah. DHKs were more or less intended to prevent players from killing opposing faction’s quest-givers, amenity vendors, and so goes on.
They eventually move on from honor system because it was tedious long grind, with load of flaws. There’s something I didn’t even mention. Let use your system in this case.
An Alliance Warlock is fighting a demon in Ashenvale for his Metamorphosis rune progression. The Horde Warlock came in, and saw that the demon he want to get is being fought by an Alliance Warlock. He could choose to wait until Alliance warlock finishes killing the demon, so he could wait for respawn.
But if he does this, and Alliance warlock see the Horde Warlock. Alliance Warlock decides to inconvenience the Horde Warlock, and alert his friends of the Horde Warlock who happened to be in nearby vicinity. They ganked the Horde Warlock, and prevented him from getting any progressions on the rune.
Oh also, if the Horde warlock tries to get his progression on those demons. And the Alliance warlock keep tagging them before Horde warlock could. He would have no choice but to leave and come back at later time because he can’t kill Alliance Warlock else he risk getting DHK.
In addition. Do you know that one player can grief 39 people all at once by simply killing a Civilian NPC? The DHK system does not care if you didn’t kill the Civilian NPC. Everybody in same raid is punished on action of a single person. Now imagine that, but against a player in Ashenvale just fighting demons.
Top PVP players are in Arena because Blizzard designed the PVP system of Retail to be that way. In Classic World of Warcraft. The Honor System rewards the PVPer for engaging with opposing faction in either Open World PVP, or Battlegrounds.
However Blizzard re-designed this Honor system, and changed it to what we know it to be PVP rating. A different system entirely focused around Battlegrounds, or Arenas.
This system would replace honor system, and be how PVPers now compete to gain the top rating, rather than aiming for Rank fourteen.
You do not gain ratings by just … Killing players in Open World PVP anymore. It is also during this time-period that concept of flying mounts would be a thing. And flying mount tend to be ultimate PVP avoidance.
OP is giving people who camp him exactly what they want. Attention.
This thread is only going to make more people camp in PVP.
You are actively accomplishing the opposite of what you want.
Congrats.
You should pick your friends wisely I don’t see that being an issue- I find issues that force social interaction are better for game play than not. I feel MMOs should be social experiences.
I don’t find much issue with the example you’re suggesting because the player getting killed would get killed just the same if the same thing happened with out what I suggested- and if someone wants to sit there and hold a mob forever that doesn’t really speak to what I suggested either.
If someone wants to make a whole raid to grief someone that can absolutely happen. With nothing I said being implemented. If the Horde lock in your example just was sitting around there killing demons and waiting for the other lock to do the rune quest,
he would be a DHK to the raid ganking him.
You choose to raid with/ hang out with the type of person who laughs at killing NPCs to inconvenience other players that’s hardly anyone’s fault but your own- though to be 100% I don’t think this system should be in the big event “World PvP zones” Like Ashenvale or Stranglethorn when it comes out.
If you keep getting ganked endlessly by the same guy, you can report it as harassment.
You actually can not. No one will help you.
It’s PVP on a PVP server.
Not reportable.
Sorry
Bro I was playing this game in 2004 and it was crap then to. Battlegrounds were as close to a fair fight as you could get. Anything out in the world was some mouthbreather giga nerd 1 shotting some lvl 42 in tanaris or some lvl 25 in TM/SS. It was never an even number of people with similar gear consenting to some battle of skill. It is just whoever has the most neckbeards at the time facerolls the team with less.
The only time world pvp was even a TINY bit okay, and I do mean TINY is the daily isles during sunwell. Every other form of world pvp in the 19 years I’ve played was horrible and only used for some giga nerd to try to get clout by killing some person half their level.
So far the only MMO where world pvp was decent was warhammer and it would turn your character into a harmless chicken if you attacked someone much lower level than you. (been way too long, don’t remember how many levels, like 5-10). This way fights would be fair and not just calling your cousin without a job to come kill some dude for you.
You actually can.
/end thread
No you can’t.
I camped a rogue in STV in classic for hours. He reported me. Nothing was done.
You can’t.
You can try, but no one will do anything for you.
Ah yes a single anecdotal event.
I have seen multiple cases of action being taken against gankers who wish to harass a certain individual.
You can not report people for camping.
I don’t care what you think you know. I know for a fact.
Blizzard will not even do anything about stream sniper who camp streamers endlessly.
Go ahead and try it and see what happens.
Nothing will be done. PVP will keep happening on a PVP server no matter how loud you cry about it.
I guess you weren’t there when in hc they did a massive ban wave of gankers who intentionally griefed opposite faction.
Yes, ganking and camping can be punishable.
This isn’t HC.
They do not do anything if it’s not HC.
Think again bud.
They will if person interupts other peoples gameplay on purpose.
No they will not. That is only a thing in HC.
They will not do anything in SoD if you are camped.
Stop typing, go outside, take a deep breath.
Ninja looting isn’t bannable either.
Imagine reporting anyone for a problem you agreed to when you chose your server.
Just ask for a layer. Stop being a reporting weirdo
I believe you are looking for a PVE server. The only one griefing is you to yourself if you dont know how to deal with camping.
pvp happened on pvp server
