hey blizz, why no new bg’s?? why not make the brawls a permanent mode? Bg’s are one of the most played fun content in the game, I dont get why they ignore it like that! They wasted countless hours for Torghast and boring unrewarding wqs so its not like they lacked the ressources… So why???
Is this actually true? I’m quite curious.
Well I think it is, queues are almost instant and people are constantly asking for it in guild chat. But I dont have actual proof, its based on observations.
Btw I don’t think Wow has actual PVP Devs atm.
That would explain the current situation
Yeah, it is what it is. Maybe someday we’ll get thrown a bone.
I hope so! can’t wait to play new bg’s one day.
Horde queues are on par with dps dungeon queues if not worse. I’d argue that rbg participation is far higher than random bg participation right now. We get instant queues even at 2400+ mmr. Same with low mmr arena. We only got new bgs in MoP because RBG participation was through the roof, so maybe you’ll luck out here.
why would the devote a dev to a minigame
even though its the one game mode that really needs it.
Ummm… no. Rated BGs are not more popular than randoms. Rofl.
5% of profiles have the 10 rated battleground wins achievement for alliance (7% for horde). 5! It’s an extremely niche thing.
Only 10% of players have ever won a single rated battleground as alliance (15% for horde). And group finder is absolutely dead at all times alliance side.
Where do you see that data? I am not doubting, I’d just like to be able to look at that kind of stuff myself.
So like it’s 4:40am EST right now and I wasn’t even logged into WoW but because I know your statement here is absolutely false I logged in just to screenshot whatever I see in LFG.

It’s 4:40am and I have to full scroll wheel down twice to reach the bottom of LFG.
That most certainly is not “dead”.
More than the last time I checked during the day. Anyway, you can see here:
Keep in mind that these are different achievements for the 2 factions and, for the 10 wins achievement, the total number of players with 10 rated BG wins is going to be higher than the 7% value for horde. This is because some people will have the achievement for one faction, but not the other.
Having said that, I am a casual BGer and even I have the achievement for both factions. There is going to be a TON of overlap. An absolute maximum of 9-10% of players have gotten the 10 rated BG wins achievement. And probably around 20% of players total (either faction) have gotten a single rated BG win ever.
Compare this to various unrated BG achievements, which often have an over 70% completion rate.
edit: There are currently 4 rated BG grps in grp finder for alliance.
Yes it can vary during time of day. I have seen some points in the morning (around 9am EST maybe) where it’s not even a full window.
Something that I am unclear on and could not readily find an answer to is what qualifies as a “profile” for those WoWhead statistics? Is it WoW game accounts or WoWhead player profiles? I could find no source clarifying either way.
Yes I just checked again and it did drop pretty quickly.
I mean it doesn’t really matter. They’re going to reflect the real values rather closely regardless. And you can compare those values to unrated BG achievement values obtained with the same methodology.
Isle of Conquest Victory - 69%
https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=3776/isle-of-conquest-victory
Silvershard Mines Victory - 67%
https://ptr.wowhead.com/achievement=6739/silvershard-mines-victory
Arathi Basin Victory - 79%
https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=154/arathi-basin-victory
While I won’t comment on whether or not the values will be reflected the same (they very well might be), the source does matter if we want to use those statistics reliably and confidently.
Data compiled from actual WoW accounts would be different than data compiled from players who have WoWhead profiles. In other words it is the whole WoW population or people who made a WoWhead account. I am leaning toward the data being from WoW accounts but without clarification I cannot reliably point to WoWhead statistics as a gauge or metric.
Ok so I did a bit more searching. The wowhead values don’t reflect current max level players and are skewed since they are calculated from profiles, many of which perhaps were made a long time ago.
This site has values for level 120 characters (I guess from before SL pre-patch).
Temple of Kotmogu Victory - 85.8%
1 Rated BG Win Horde - 20.9%
1 Rated BG Win Alliance - 13.5%
https://www.worldofwargraphs.com/global-stats/achievements/
Due to overlap in the 2 achievements, I will assume something like 27% of current max level players have a single rated BG win. However, 86% of people have a Temple of Kotmogu win.
There really is no comparison and it’s ludicrous to suggest that rated BGs are more popular than random BGs. A notion that defies common sense.
Your faction is completely dead. I have 10+ minute horde bg queues. I get instant rbg queues above 2400. No evidence you’ve provided is circumstancial. You have no LFG groups because the only alliance rbgers are 2500+ cr and don’t use lfg. Using wow head profiles is cringe. All I see is another delusional casual pvper defending his awful game mode. I bet you also want rbg solo queue and everyone to have the same gear.
Also, you get temple of kotmogu victory even if achieved in an RBG. That map was also released at one of the highest sub base times in the history of the game and was new. Obviously people played it.
No evidence I’ve provided is “circumstancial?” Ummm… ok. Anyone who has a rated Temple win will also have a random Temple win. And the fraction of Temple wins coming from rated is going to be small compared to those from unrated given the fact that Temple wins are far, far more common than having a single win in any rated BG period.
You have about the worst reasoning skills I’ve ever seen.
It seems that it would be incredibly, incredibly obvious that random BG participation is magnitudes higher than RBGs on either faction. Just to get a character geared to the point where you can get into an RBG group takes dozens of random BGs right now.
Kind of a weird hill to die on.
