Pass, the last thing I want to do is having to farm different gear sets for different content for more than one role. There are some issues with the current system but nothing that would justify jumping the shark to something like this.
dawg ill do anything for gear pvp, pve, raids mythic+, mythic, korthia the maw dont care as long as i can use that gear in EVERYTHING I DO, what i will not do is grind a set for each specific activity and have to carry a bunch of those around
The issue is Raiding gear drops are simply not worth the time investment. I did sepulcher last week on Fated Normal and got 2 gear drops from 11 bosses.
Every boss in a raid needs to 100% drop a piece of gear for each player (for most specs each boss has 3 to 5 items and weekly lockout) and M+ needs to 100% chance drop a piece of loot also (your average M+ lootable for 4 bosses is 6 to 8 pieces of gear). This would make raiding more rewarding and M+ less of a chore.
What if it was simply put into a loadouts tab? Choose which pieces you want in each loadout and they are stored separately to be equipped in each loadout.
You would if you wanted to take part in different forms of content. After all the OP clearly stated that each “pillars” gear scaled up in the content it came from. After all he said “M+ gear ilvl sclaes up in M+” and not “instances gear scales up in instances”.
It worked rather swimmingly for PVP. I don’t see why they couldn’t do it with the other two major forms of endgame content to keep people able to focus on what they enjoy.
If not then roll back the nerfs to PVP gear so it’s potentially bis again, Nathria/Sinful was fun.
Okay, but we can talk instead about how this is a terrific idea in principle, and can easily get past the knee-jerk “I don’t have enough bag space!” objection if we actually put some thought into how to make it work.
If you read my idea above, it eliminates the bag space issue and also gives a way to save each loadout none of which would take space from people. There can be a separate gear tab and loadouts for them.
