Or… and hear me out here, we could go another way entirely and just not do that.

How about we instead remove monks from the Zandalari Class Roster as they make no sense, (seeing as how the Pandaren hate the Zandalari) and replace them with Warlocks.

this. blizz are you reading?

Zandalari need warlocks and we need a caster necromancer class.

The necromancer spec should be a ranged death knight 4th spec.

Unholy DKs are necromancers

I don’t want to be a necromancer I’m a witch. Zandalari should have warlocks.

this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. that’s like saying a paladin is a priest. 0/10. also warriors are hunters because they both deal physical damage and elemental shamans, fire mages, brewmasters, and destro locks are all the same thing because they use fire.

I don’t want to be a necromancer I’m a witch. Zandalari should have warlocks.

Necromancers use dark chemistry like witches do!

Unholy summons a ghoul as a pet, deals damage with necrotic base, and operates with death and decay as spec themes.

The spec is themed off of a D&D Death Knight instead of the classic ‘caster Necromancer’ from other media.

Necromancers use Necrotic Spellcasting and other negative effects. Witches don’t operate as the same kind of spellcaster.

Sorry that you dont like it, but they are. They summon and control the undead through shadow magic. A necromancer class would be redundant at this point with Unholy DKs existing

I’m sorry to inform you that a melee class is not the same as a caster. You might want to level a melee and then level a caster so that you can learn the difference.

Unholy DKs can operate at range better then any other melee/ Clawing shadows/VP/DC. They do pretty decent from a range

You are comparing a slow, hulking melee fighter with a squishy magic wielder. Death Knights were educated in the art of necromancy by Arthas’ lieutenants, but that is just one flavor of necromancy out of many. It means some DKs are decent with necromantic magic, with their runemaster and knightly abilities filling in the gaps where a true necromancer would surpass them. By your logic, paladins and priests should’ve just been one class.

They use shadow magic. A necromancer isnt defined by their wardrobe, they are ones that practice necromancy or the communication with the undead. Unholy Very much practices necromancy

By your logic we should have Wizards too because mages just dont fit my exact desires for what spec that uses fire/arcane/frost should be.

Unholy DKs are still necromancers.

you lost me at your wizard argument lmao. wizards and mages both wear cloth

I dont figure thats hard

Why do Necromancers have to be ranged spellcasters to you?

A Death Cleric in D&D is a melee caster that has undead minions that do their bidding and are empowered by the Cleric.

Nothing about being a Necromancer requires being a ranged-cloth spellcaster.

In the ‘hood’ we call them Clerics.

The difference between a Cleric and a Paladin in 5th Edition isn’t that much.
