Another victim here, Mac mini M2 Pro running Ventura 13.4.1. Multiple instances of agent running and failure to install from Battle.net application. I have a ticket in as well. Subscribed to this tread, hopefully we get a resolution soon. I’ve tried the steps outlined by others above to no avail. Good luck.
/facepalm
Thanks for the explanation.
boy I really was excited to try this as it sounds like it might definitely be the issue but no luck lol
Hey all,
Thanks for all of the information provided thus far. The engineers have been digging into this and they’re trying to get a bit more information to figure out why this is happening for you all. Can those of you still experiencing the issue please run our log goblin tool and email us the results? We’ll forward those to the engineers so that they can investigate in more detail and hopefully finally get a fix in for you all. You can use the information below to email this:

Subject: WoW Classic Not Installing on Mac - Log Request
Note: This inbox is for file collection only and not monitored for support requests. Emails sent to this inbox do not receive a response.
Thanks again for all of your patience throughout this process. If we get further updates with meaningful info for you all, we’ll post them here.
I tried attaching my 906kb log zip file to the email and it was flagged as being too large twice. Does that file size seem appropriate?
Hey everyone,
The team is still looking into what can be done to ultimately fix what’s going on. There is no ETA on when that may be though. We have found two different workarounds that seem to work in the mean time.
The easiest is just restart the system and then start the Battle.net application again.
If a restart is not possible, the other workaround is to check if multiple instances of Agent.app are running. If multiple instances are running, close down Battle.net Desktop App, wait for the processes to exit (they can be Force Quit if they don’t close within 2 minutes), and then restart Battle.net Desktop App.
We’ll update this thread when we have more information to share. Thanks for the patience.
I would love to know if just restarting solved the situation for anyone.
These “workarounds” did not work for me.
Hey everyone!
I wanted to write here because I was having the same issue as most of you.
I was able to fix the issue but wanted to make sure it still worked. So I started the game and leveled a character a few levels to make sure it still worked.
Essentially I just uninstalled everything, including Battle Net, which seems to be the suspect.
I then downloaded WoW straight from the website. It downloads Battle Net automatically, but it goes right into downloading WoW after. And I had no issues.
I had been fiddling around with all the admin stuff before but never worked. This worked like a charm.
Hope this helps.
I’ve tried this and it didn’t work.
Also deleted all traces of blizzard and battle.net folders in hidden library folders and shared folders.
Does not work at all.
The only solution that currently works is to come with the wow.zip file that you can download and it’s about 400MB, after that you can install the game, nothing else works. Contact this user on discord: axynokay
I can do that as well, but it’s his credit.
spent 6 hours trying to fix this with everything on forums and none worked.
Would you mind sending me the files? I sent the friend request to the guy but he hasn’t accepted it. markfocky is my discord.
Can you send to me as well please? redssarge discord
Lol, the bnet app has an update today…Only part is, it fails to even update itself. You choose restart and update it just restarts it without update, then goes “btw there is still a update”
The quality of battle.net is just HORRIFICALLY bad and utterly hopeless.
disgusting, fix your game. i broke everything trying to get this to work.
this worked for me! Close battlenet, go into System Setting> Privacy & Security> Full Disk Access press + then search for ‘Agent’ open it and make sure it’s checked on run the battlenet app again should install the game.
It’s been over a month and still no updates. No shred of customer service - the tech support is a joke, no apologies and no mention of a possible refund or credit. I don’t understand how some people are able to get it to work for them again when I still can’t even download the game. I have tried all the “tricks” and “work arounds” but it still doesn’t work and quite honestly, it’s not fair for the burden to be on me to jump through these hoops to try to play a game that I am paying for.
Yes, this post is one big complaint but I am surprised and frusterated that this much time has gone by without anything being fixed or any sort of update and/or progress.
I had to go out and buy a windows computer just to play the game I subscribed to for a year. I think at this point Mac is now dead for Warcraft. Blizzard has been absolute garbage about this issue, no customer service what so ever.
Extremely Frustrated Mac User Unable to Access Paid Content
I have been a loyal World of Warcraft player for many years, but I am at my wits end with the inability to install and play WoW Classic on my new M1 Max MacBook Pro. I purchased the game and subscribed over a month ago, excited to revisit a classic version of my favorite game, only to be met with installation errors and launch failures ever since.
Despite forum threads showing many fellow Mac users encountering the same problem, Blizzard has provided no meaningful fixes and communication from customer support has been severely lacking. I have wasted countless hours trying suggested fixes to no avail. It is unacceptable that I cannot access content I paid for on a $3000 laptop specifically marketed as great for gaming.
Nearly half a month has gone by without being able to play because of unresolved technical issues on Blizzard’s end. Each day that goes by without a solution is money out of my pocket for a subscription that I cannot properly utilize. Even a few days of this would be highly frustrating, but over two weeks is absolutely absurd.
I love World of Warcraft, but this experience of being a paying customer unable to access your product has left me extremely disappointed. I ask that you please escalate this issue and dedicate significantly more resources to finally solving this installation problem for MacOS users. I want to play the game I paid for, not endlessly troubleshoot. Your fans and subscribers deserve better support than what has been provided these past few weeks.
