So closing the app and re loading it helped the first time, I got into the game. But then I made the mistake of trying to change characters. Now I canât load any character and the original fix doesnât work either.
Gamers deserve way better blizzard trolls and takes away the fun everytime.
This worked for me.
I got in. You have to keep trying. Do NOT change characters.

Completely exiting the battle.net launcher and reopening seems to have fixed it for me
tossing my hat in as well. Was stuck at âretrieving realm listâ for about 5 minutes before it errored out and said no realms were available (Maint for today is overâŚ)
Closed it and launcher out completely and tried again from scratch, got past the retrieving realm list and am now stuck at âRetrieving character listâ and am staring at a blank warband while it tries to load.
Breaking news in the upper left corner:
âWe are looking into issues that players are experiencing when attempting to login, use the Auction House, or access Crafting Orders.â
I canât speak to Crafting Orders, but I know last night when I was attempting to purchase items off the Auction house, it kept saying that the items were no longer available. Once or twice I can see someone maybe beating me to the âbuyâ button, but refreshing the search, it kept saying that the item I wanted to buy was still there and never actually refreshed the list.
These issues were not occuring during Early AccessâŚThe only thing I can think is that perhaps beta access was not stress test worthy enough to put the expac through the necessary paces before it went fully live.
Additional noteâŚthe wow forums avatar is not reflecting my true levelâŚthis character is my first level 80, but itâs reflecting level 70 hereâŚthatâs disconcerting. It showed as level 80 on previous forum comments in the past few days.
I did manage to get in after the fourth close and reopening attempt.
I honestly donât remember the last launch that had this many authentication issues and downtime.

Itâs not just char selection and login. If you get into game, server responses are intermittent at best. Click on a quest â nothing happens for nearly a minute, then the system responds. Took me 2 minutes to log out. This is on Wyrmrest Accord, but Iâm seeing it reported on multiple realms.
Something WOW infrastructure ainât right. Hasnât been since maintenance ended.

Input lag is insane today, like 5+ seconds to loot something, 2+ to shapeshift, etc. Was getting 2.8 fps trying to do the questline with Voss, then wow became unresponsive, had to end task, try to log back in, it sits at retrieving characters for a really long time, then shows that the WrA server doesnât even exist.
Now I see my characters, but trying to log in on one of them boots me with âA character with that name already existsâ
Maybe for you but for some of us our servers arenât even on the list.!
WrA exists again, was even able to log in, still getting 2.4 fps in the Laboratory of the Grand Splicer. Canât walk. Canât turn in quest, canât leave.
3rd day in a row stuck at retrieving. Itâs honestly unacceptable.
I got stuck on the loading screen, and before logging into my character, I couldnât see my server on the list. Itâs really weird.
in the War Within campaign quests, when i enter a cinematic my dialog sound will just cut out, and i will have to completely relaunch the game to get my dialog sound back. i turned off all my addons, delete my WTF folder, and it still keeps happening at random. the last quest i did was âThe Edictsâ and as soon as the cut scene starts all i hear is music and the dialog is gone. once the cut scene is over i have NO dialog sound at all. No emote sounds, no clicking on NPC Sounds, nothing but combat sound and music.
Yea so i login and I have 0 characters. Anyone else have this issue?
