Your Mac is Metal 3 capable and you might want to try Ventura (latest version) to see if that works. I would make a clone or backup of your drive prior to doing so, but you should both be able to play under Ventura and net a performance increase since you’ll be using the Metal API instead of Metal-Legacy API.
Because of these unforseen issues, an isolated set of paying customers will not get to play the game to progress their characters. The best way to remedy this is to give every player their vault rewards/ conquest points/ and or any other weekly rewards so that paying customers do not fall behind.
Mine did update to 47871 but instead of immediately crashing, it waits until after the cinematic. Our OS/GPU combo is definitely an outlier that have to hope gets included in the Tuesday update.
I agree with this statement.
Worked on my Catalina, I did nothing but sleep all day and tried to login now.
hope its not a isolated case
TYVM for keeping us updated
I would, except that this is also my business computer, and it’s leased, and it is going back in about a month. I’m also twitchy about it because when i upgraded to Big Sur i had huge, HUGE issues. i really don’t want to risk any downtime for my business upgrading to a new OS with only a month left on this computer. just don’t want to rock this boat when it’s on its last month.
I just tried and this happens to me too. If I attempt to cancel the cinematic then it promptly quits and I get the same error message. So I’m really hoping for murky or murkidan as compensation, but in all reality I’ll take just being able to play again.
10.14.6
It was working for me after yesterdays update. Today, Battle.net downloaded a new update and now it crashes again
Was able to fix this by upgrading my mac OS to 12.6.3
Im jealous, it didn’t work for me.
Anybody’s fixed?
Are we going to get any compensation for the week of game time we lost?
I`m afraid to close my game and crash again
Ironically, one of the major reasons I still play WOW is because it supports macs.
If I get a new gaming PC, it will be to play something else.
Blizzard should consider how many players they have that play WOW because of Mac support, I think.
Yeah, on a MacBook running 11.7.3 When trying to launch WoW I get a black screen with the “Hand Cursor” then it crashes.
Since version 10.0.5.47871 arrived, WoW gets a little farther: instead of crashing before the game window ever appears before that version, now it crashes shortly after the game window with the “Connecting” button appears. Out of several crashes, one was quite spectacular, turning my whole screen a cherry red!
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Mid 2015)
Processor: 3.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M290 GB
Yup, instead of a black screen before the crash, it’s now a red screen before the crash. ::sighs::
For security reasons it’s best not to put the serial number out in public, it’s a little like posting your physical address.
I still get the Dragonflight video but if I click or press any keys, it crashes
