Update ran, rebooted. Crashes after cinematic.

Iā€™ve been off since the patch, tried again tonight and it didnā€™t work. I had read somewhere in this thread someone had said they reloaded the battlenet app and it worked for them, I just tried that and it also worked for me. My machine is a late 2013 iMac with Catalina OS.

Soā€¦ any idea for those of us stuck on 11.7.3 and have a AMD GPUā€¦ Sucks we are going to miss a whole raid lockout and any rewards from the previous week.

There a secret to getting the launcher to update? Iā€™m on 10.15 and still running 10.0.5.47849. Rebooted computer, relaunched battle.net app. Checked for updates. I have no idea how they are rolled out and if only some people get them but not others.

Edit: Still donā€™t know the answers but I made a small blood sacrifice and my client is loading in.

works for me now. Catalina mac. late 2012

So I legit have almost same specs as you and it works. Difference is processor and graphics card. Sorry.

Iā€™m 11.7.3 Intel Iris 1536MB 2014 Intel core I5 and Iā€™m in.

Itā€™s a bit annoying we were told to update to newer versions of Mac os past where weā€™d actually be able to play lol. I donā€™t really accept the ā€œwe assumed it was only for 10.xā€ when every single os versionā€™s been listed in this thread and the countless error logs sent in.

Itā€™s a hack job without a doubt.

Mine still crashes upon launch. I do get to see the WoW logo and the ā€œconnectingā€ box on the black screen for just a second before it crashes, though. Before it was just the black screen and cursor. Yay. I have the latest version on the launcher, and Iā€™ve restarted my computer. I downloaded Ventura but havenā€™t upgraded yet because so many people said it didnā€™t help anyway. Editing to add that the game was perfectly fine on Monday before the patch. :stuck_out_tongue:

Big Sur 11.7.3, 2018 MBP 13ā€.

My AMD eGPU still crashes, but if I disconnect it and run off the integrated Iris Plus 655 Graphics it runs.

Thanks for the updates Omegal, Rommax and team! Sorry you have to deal with these crap circumstances.

Wow thanks for the info how were you able to disable the AMD GPU?

AM I able to disable the AMD GPU on my 2014 imac i7?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6 (18G9323)

Since Tuesday, I had been experiencing the same log-in crashes as so many others here, too. As of Friday night (Saturday 1:30 AM EST), with patch update 10.0.5.47871, Iā€™m able to log in again normally, without any command line modifiers, and with all addons turned on, etc. Hereā€™s hoping everyone else wakes up to being able to log in and enjoy some WoW over the weekend too! Thanks to the Mac Crew for burning the midnight oil on this one.

Good luck and good hunting!

It shouldnā€™t hit the memory leak since Metal 3 supports that GPU.

Directly from Appleā€™s Metal page. The 5500 XT falls within that supported GPU range, thus unless there is a specific issue with Intel CPUs themselves, Ventura should work for them without the leak so long as they choose Metal as the API and not Metal-Legacy.

Iā€™m noticing that the people having issues are on the Iris Pro and not the Iris Plus. Is it possible that only the Iris Plus IGPs are properly Metal 3 supported (which affects the fix involved here) and not the very much older Iris Pro? Remember, thatā€™s a 2014 version of the Iris IGP, long before even Metal 2 was a thing.

sigh been watching the chat and didnā€™t feel like chiming in. But I can confirm it still is not working on all intel gpuā€™s. I am running on Big Sur 11.7.3 with iris pro and its not even an option for me to upgrade or downgrade. Since it seemed like they ā€œwerenā€™t awareā€ it was a problem for those of us with os 11, how can we know if they are even going to fix this for us with the intel at os 11 by Tuesday. Seems like theyā€™re just going to isolate non intel gpu at OS 11. Pretty disappointing that weā€™re missing a week and thatā€™s if they are ā€œawareā€ of the full problem. I guess weā€™ll see.

Iā€™m getting further. I can actually see the word ā€œConnectingā€ before it crashes.

Guys this is ridiculous!!! Rise up! Stop changing your OS or other settings when you should just be annoyed with Blizzard.
