I have two Late 2013 iMacs with identical specs (i7, 780m 4GB GPU) that my daughters use, and both crash on launch and get the error on Retail WoW. Classic launches fine on both.
On my M1 Mac Mini everything is working fine.

Got the exact same response to my ticket
They have given an update. Itâs a known issue, itâs being worked on and it will hopefully be out soon. Do you expect hourly updates? To what purpose?
I was using Big Sur⊠didnt work, installed unsupported Monterey version on my old 2O13 Macbook pro retina⊠also still wouldnât work. So⊠cmon blizz.
Lol another maintenance tomorrow lets pray they figure it out this time
Make/Model of the system: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
Processor: 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
OS Version: 10.15.7
Same problem here. The update of latest patch was done without any issue, but when i try to launch the game it crashes. Never had any issue with wow for 11 years. I have Imac 27ââ with macOS Catalina 10.15.7
already posted a ticket to support , meanwhile i canât play the game i love and pay!
Please fix it.
Mac OS Big Sur - version 11.7.3.
Unexpected error message when choose Dragonflight.
However I can log without problems in WOW Classic
I am also having the same issue.
Guess weâll find out tomorrow lol
Same issueâŠBlizz should reward all MAC users with an EPIC equipable item for this!!
Last downloadable update didnt fix anything.
Something just happened. I gave it another try before leaving and I got a message to check my authenticator. Checked my phone and there was a message to approve it was me, click it and game started updating again. Launching⊠same message âunexpected errorâ. It seems theyâre working on it.
well thatâs if they can fix it. It might just be the end for older MAC users
Iâm as frustrated as the next person but trying my best to be patient and understanding. The rude and nasty comments are quite cringey. These are likely the same people who send celebrities/influencers death threats just for saying something they donât like.
My battle.net now shows it as Updating (Initializing but at 0%). Better than no activity or communication at least!
Can confirm that updating from Big Sur to Ventura 13.2 fixed this for me. My Mac has Metal3 compatible GPUs, there doesnât appear to be a fix for older Macs that donât meet the Metal3 specs due to the memory leak issue.
MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2019
Processor: 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Letâs all gather hands and pray to the Maker.
False alarm. It never went past 0% and is no longer updating. Cruel joke.
Mine âupdatedâ and completed but nothing changed. Still canât get in.
