[Main Thread] Crashes on launch after maintenance Jan 24th

Error upon launch. Happened with the maintenance.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)
Processor: 3.8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB

And Big Sur is better on older MACs apparently.

Great response. We all pay about $220 a year plus the cost of expansions. They make a lot of money. Fix it

I completely agree. I’ve been holding out on installing Monterey until Ventura came out. I figured by now that most of the bugs would have been taken care of. If I had to update to Ventura, I’d just cancel my account.

Yeah how do we go about getting some restitution for this?

Very frustrating! As I’ve said, I have a hot date with a babe in the Mage Quarter!

Add me to the list, same problem. Unexpected Error Report ID #3761169B-3A1A-42BF-9673-77ED480F776A. I even uninstalled and reinstalled… Running Catalina on my iMac.

I raised a ticket yesterday and got this response:

Game Master Ixzal here and sorry about these problems with WoW crashes. We have received similar reports from other players using Macs and this appears to be a bug. The Dev team is working on a patch which should be released in the near future to help get this resolved. You can read about this here:

Truly sorry about this but in this case, we ask that you please remain patient as these bugs are fixed.

Best wishes!

Me too. Updated my OS, uninstalled and reinstalled- twice- still can’t get anything more than a few seconds of black screen with the cursor. And no error message in the “unexpected error” window. Can we at least get someone to say they’ve heard us and they’re working on it?? I had plans with a friend today that I had to cancel because I can’t get in.

I am on Monterey 12.6.3 and it does not work

What are the chances they are doing a cost benefit analysis at this moment trying to decide how much it will cost them to fix and maintain this for users of older MacOS (10.15.7 or later) vs. how much money they will lose by telling those users to pound sand?

Thats a bingo!

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
2.3 GhZ 8-core Intel Core i9
Amd Radeon Pro 5500m 4 gb
MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

I was able to launch retail wow just fine after the update unlike some others, however I set the game to windowed mode, and clicked on the bar above the game (macUI with minimize, fullscreen etc… buttons) and the game crashed. Tried to relaunch but got the same issue as others with the WoW curson appearing, sometimes a black screen shows then crashes. Reinstalling, and scanning don’t work. WOTLK Classic still launches fine however so I believe it has something to do with the resolution maybe? Tried resetting ingame settings and deleting wtf folder, nothing seems to help :frowning:

I think that would be the time to google how to report false advertising to the proper authorities considering they promised us dragonflight would work.

I’m not mad that there’s a problem. I run a business, no matter how much planning or money you have, there’s ALWAYS issues that pop up that you couldn’t have foreseen or are beyond your control…but the lack of communication is what is frustrating and bordering on inexcusable. I’ve already missed my chance for raid loot this week and missed locking up my raid slots in the vault, but to have no info, reassurances, or anything is just downright bad customer service.
