It’s unlikely you got hit with a bad driver, especially if you have the latest available for your GPU. There is a known issue on the Windows side with client crashing, so you most likely ran into that. Neither platform is in a good place right now.
they say they know about it and are working on it. https://twitter.com/BlizzardCS/status/1618364509986463758
For those who cannot wait for blizzard to fix this,
you can Hackintosh your older MACS to get on Monterey/ Ventura
but you need to download Opencore Legacy and do a whole bunch of stuff.
I think it’s better to wait to let blizz fix it, if they can get it done within 1-2 days.
on new OS … still not working
It’s because you cannot buy a low-end mac, but you can buy PC’s very cheap and they’re outdated pretty soon. Apple software is made for MAC computers and is better optimized.
I am also running 2013 macbook pro and I really don’t need to get a new one soon. Even running WOW on low graphics is enough for me.
Is it back yet
no, not yet
I had to update from Big Sur to Monterey and then everything worked like normal.
Yeah, still crashing.

I will offer up my experiences since yesterday:
I have a 2010 Mac Pro running 10.13.6 (High Sierra) with a RX580 that I was using before DF/10.0 and I had to stop since the game was not launching on it anymore.
I switched to using an Intel Hades Canyon NUC I have which is an i7-8809G with Vega graphics running Windows 10 and it has been fine until yesterday. It is currently unable to load the game to world, but I can get to the character select and try to enter the world (then crashes hard)
I had also setup my 2019 MacBook Pro which has Core i9-9989HK or whatever it is with the Vega 64 and it was also working up until yesterday (set it up at the end of December for mobile playing mostly.) I gave up on the Windows 10 desktop and tried out this laptop, and it can not even load up anything and crashes out after a few seconds. This computer was running 10.14 Mojave before setting up WoW but I had issues so I upgraded it to 10.15 Catalina to make WoW at the end of December, so it is on Catalina now.
Finally, this morning, I took the 90GB WoW install on the MBP running Catalina and copied it to my work MacBook Air with M2 running Monterey (12.x) and the game runs fine on Monterey on the M2 MBA, no issues, even the add-ons complain less…
would like to get a desktop version working again though…
Almost a full day since the last Blue post.
I’m gonna bet it’ll be 3-5 days before this is resolved.
Has this happened before ?
iMac 2017 OS 10.15.7

Macintosh SSD
Radeon Pro 560 4 GB
been playing on Mac since 2011. Hasn’t gone on this long
They better not take away my damn vault rewards
It’s the os. You gotta be using at least Monterey. I finally updated from Big Sur and now WoW works fine.
I’ve heard on older Macs that Monterey isn’t the better OS so I’m sticking with Big Sur. It shouldn’t be up to us to fix their bug.
Except those of us using Big Sur (and earlier versions) found it working just fine two days ago.
Thanks for the advice, but many of us have older iMacs that cannot download that OS as has been stated many times in this thread.
