I think ALL MacOS users are having this issue.
Seems like it but some are reporting that updating to ventura solved the problem for them, so theres no harm in trying
Well thatâs just not true. Of the other 3 Mac users I know irl, Iâm the only one whoâs had the problem, not to mention the people in this thread whoâve solved it by updating already. Iâd be surprised it if were even a large fraction of Mac users tbh, based on my small sample size and the # of people in this thread, not that 100% of people with the issue will say anything but if even 1% do, 40k hardly seems like itâd be all Mac players. But thatâs pointless to speculate, itâs just clearly not ALL of them
What if I already have Big Sur, can I downgrade to Ventura? frustrating.
It will be a horrible for some if this patch isnât compatible with Bigsur. =X
If itâs not, Iâm really hoping theyâre able to find a way to make it compatible. Not trying to drop 1500 on a gaming PC quite yet.
Thanks for that info. I try to avoid upgrading my MacOS systems until I am out of options, because it seems more and more of software I paid for becomes obsolete, and I depend on many titles for my everyday work. I think I am going to hold out and see if Blizzard comes up with a fix anytime soon.
same here, Iâm counting on not having to update my computer. Iâm glad thatâs gotten it working for some people, but I canât find any clear dividing pattern of OS versions that work/donât, so whateverâs going on doesnât seem like incompatibility to me, just one bizarre bug. I donât envy whoever has to take care of it, but Iâd be shocked if it actually became necessary to update, just seems like a way to maybe skip the wait.
Updated to ventura and that does seem to have fixed the problem, able to log into characters as well.
Got the âblack screen, armored hand mouse icon, then crashâ issue yesterday after maintenance and it is continuing to now.
System:
MacOS Monterey 12.6.3
Macbook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2015)
Processor: 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
Yes, same for me. On a Mac and havenât been able to log in for days. Getting the same issue with the black screen and then the unexpected error window.
Yes, it will be. If Big Sur is the problem, Iâll just cancel my account until Blizzard gets their sh*t together.
Dang. Just realized Ventura is the latest and my Mac doesnât support it. Either they make it compatible for Sur or Iâm sol.
Thanks Asriél. I can upgrade on my work laptop. My home iMac may be maxed at Catalina, I will have to see.
iMac 27 inch late 2012
Processor, 3.4 GHz quad core Intel core i7
OS: Mac OS, Catalina, version 10.15.7.
Iâve tried to reload the battle net app and loading World of Warcraft several times, still have the same issue as described in this thread, where it loads of black screen I can see the wow mouse cursor, but then crashes and goes to error. I definitely cannot upgrade any further to any higher OS than I have. I have Ventura on my work computer, but I definitely do not want to use my work computer to play. Wow.
Ventura is way too buggy right now to even consider installing just for WoW.
Same here on mac loads in to game then freezes and gets error message
Having the same issue here. Please keep us updated
iMac 2020
3.1 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5
AMD Radeon Pro 5300 4 GB
OS Version 10.15.7
Fixed the issue
