Same issue on my evoker and druid, but a few of my others seem to be just fine so far.
Really weird.
Also went into the “character unstuck” service page and it gave errors when I attempted to use it.

This character. Twice in the past hour. In Valdrakken.
Fixed it before by logging into an alt, then logging out and back into this character.
Now back to the infinite loading screen stuck at full, then D/C or crash.
Can’t get on this character at all now.

Seriously - it’s getting REALLY old at this point.

The way it happened to me was
Get to character screen fine, get stuck on 90% load screen for a minute or two, get the 100% stay there till get disconnected.
Did with a 2nd character, same server, max lvl as well, valdrakken as well, first character location was blank
Same thing
Logged on a 3rd character, lower level, orgrimmar, no issues.
Went back to first character, took a while but got in.
Idk if this helps figure out wth is this. But it would be nice if blizz acknowledges whats going on, makes us feel that they see it and might be working on it. Specially with holidays, the deep silence complete about it is unnerving, not helpful.

I am having the same problem
Same issue. I can’t log in to any of my characters on the Hyjal realm that are in Valdrakken. Very long loading screen with a disconnect. The characters themselves are located " " just a blank nowhere when I reload the game.
The entire week has been a nightmare with logging issues, characters stuck, loading screen. The game is just not reliable for playing any above average contest. I think BLiz needs to compensate for this gaming time.

Looks like the characters who are parked in Vald are in a risk group. Logged in in ZC on alt and see that 2 of my alts are online as well +_+

My Hubby has 4 toons stuck in Character name already exists and cant log in. Also showings them online, i have one character myself that is now stuck with same issue…
I now have 4 toons stuck with the response “Character name already exists” Logged into another character and guild page shows all are online even though all are on one account.

Same issue here. Seems I can’t access any character parked in Valdrakken. Tried it with two, got the endless full loading bar. Stuck character service did not resolve it. Got tickets open for the stuck characters, afraid to try and log into anymore.

Same issue today… i give up, hope they fix this mess soon.
I am having the same issue. I try to log into any character and it loads to 100 percent, never completes the process and disconnects.

yeah im getting that too im in the dragon isles not far from valdraken.
and sometimes it freezes on the loading screen.
So I woke up this morning, logged into this toon and it pulled right up, no issues. I then swapped toons to another one that was stuck and no issues. Log back into this one and it’s toast again. When I signed in, I verified he was in Valdrakken.

Still happening Mon July 3 - “A character with this name already exists” – and yes, it’s my one character who is parked in Valdrakken – thanks for this note folks, will go in my ticket. Also to note, this weekend the whole city of Vladrakken, at least on Nordrassil server, was already unplayably lagging.
This is also happening with me, started last night. Everything was fine then I log out of one character and tried to log in to another and it wouldn’t load the game, just stayed on the loading screen at 100% loaded but wouldn’t open the game and then disconnected me. And it’s still happening again right now. Was stuck on loading screen for about 3 to 5 minutes and now it just disconnected me.
Same here. I did the character unstuck and it worked. Unfortunately there is a 7hr cooldown for that service so if you have 2 character that this has happened to, then you are out of luck.
Still having issues; yesterday my entire group tried to enter an instance for a key and all of us got stuck at the loadscreen with 90% complete. We all had to restart the game, but then could not log in with that toon because “a character with that name already exists.” This happened repeatedly. What’s more frustrating is that NO ONE from Blizzard addresses or even acknowledges this issue.

I am now experiencing this issue on this character…finally come back after having to take a long break due to financial issues, to be not allowed to even level up my main character cause it wont let me log into her. I heard of guild mates having this issue but i hadnt experienced this till yesterday and its still ongoing…whats the point of us paying money if we cant use our characters we want? This bug needs to get fixed ASAP.
