Main reason tanks and healers are not playing or are leaving the game

It all boils down to this:

The majority of WoW is a casual game. (Easy in and out queued up experiences.) Mythic+ flies in the face of that.

Mythic+ appeals to a very small percentage of the population. It’s just the path of least resistance to the most epics.

CLEARLY HE MEANS ALL OF DEM, ME GOOD READIN SKILLS

My man… you dont take healers to high mythic plus keys they become optional… I will never in my life understand healer ego…

“My roles the most important!” screams the role that is dropped to take 4 dps and a tank.

What’s more toxic… the healer claiming they have an important role? Or the person hiding behind an alt telling healers they are cocky and irrelevant?

The only way I’ve been able to get KSH as a healer has been to out gear the content.

So many groups are

  • Carry one person (Overall group damage seems to heavily depend on everyone’s overall stamina/mitigation)
  • Low ilvl tanks almost getting three shot constantly
  • DPS with high IO who have no idea what they’re doing
  • Tanks who do MDI crap in pugs.

Some groups are great but it’s so rare that it makes logging in a pain. That third boss in CoT is especially painful if the group doesn’t do jack to help out. Stupid healer. Why couldn’t you AoE burst heal 20% health ticks. Git gud.

DPS is the protagonist role. You have damage, you have control, you have defenses. It’s a jack of all trades. The you just need a healer to follow you and keep you alive between CDs and a tank to group up all the mobs so you can BLAST.

Why can’t the supporting cast know they are the Tito to the DPS Michael? They knew when they created that character that it was just a costar. Never to be a leading lady/lad. They need to learn their place and start signing up.

DPS are used to just Macroing their defensive I to their CDs so they can ignore mechanics while they do their damage window. Having to press them to live is a constant surprise for perennially bad players.

Tanks and healers need a huge incentive to play. There’s a whole community of people who love that role. But you can’t make their success depend on dps monkeys, or they feel bad and stop playing.

Not an ego lol nor did I “scream” “my role is the most important”. Even said in the post tanks have the toughest role. Just dont see dps being harder then healing.

Whats makes playing a dps harder then healing in keys?

We have feats of strength. Isn’t my fault blizz treats swapping mains as a new forum history.

Less responsibilities and way more powerful defensives. You also require far less output compared to a dps at the same skill levels. Heals has challenges but its at most cd management.

It’s not just 8+. I tried running a Mists +2, invited by the healer, and after the DPS just kept standing in it and bricked the key by the 2nd boss, the three of them dipped and the healer apologized to me for wasting my time. I sat and chatted with them for 20 mins and told them it was not their fault. I’ve chatted with them since on my friends list. Your hot take on tanks and healers, is just like everyone elses. Only the tanks, healers, and Blizz really know. If Blizz ever actually sent a poll to tanks and healers who are actively playing this season, they might get some surprising answers.

My incentive to play healer is I can join a pug in 60 seconds rather than 60 minutes on my dps. If the dps are mouth breathers I gg go next into the next one.

I think that the long wait times are because the tanks and healers don’t need to go there, they were first in line and already have their gear and drops that they want. Why go back?

There is a lot more DPS and they all still want their gear and drops.

Weird because finding a tank/healer for m+ at 8s and higher generally only takes a handful of minutes.

If anything I can see this more at lower key levels.

That’s measuring dps by maximum output instead of minimum required though. Theoretical potential doesn’t mean players will perform remotely close to that.

If tanks hypothetically can solo a key and time it, does it make it the hardest role, or easiest?

Whenever I pug keys and get invited (unless I’m the 5th) I always pop open the LFG to see who else is in queue. Without fail, there’s 20-40 dps and maybe one other healer.

Whenever there is a thread which begins as or becomes a discussion about Mythic Plus its always about toxicity… Whether it is or is not and who is responsible… And it’s always a really “toxic” discussion…which is ironic and hilarious at the same time.

Now, there is a side I generally agree with but the reality is the way the discussion always goes is very toxic, it’s a blame game where everyone deflects the discussion to a specific set of people… Either this is a conscious effort to avoid change or just a defensive mechanism the result is the same… Mythic Plus has no consensus in its community who seem to constantly war with each other…

From a non-MPlus players perspective Mythic Plus is doomed by its own player base… That said I am aware that many MPlus players are not able to consider comments or opinions from anyone that is not a top level Mythic Plus player…which is also backwards and quite funny.

If anything, the lack of tanks needed for raid (imho) plays a larger role in the tank disparity for group content.

Yea make 20 man raids need 4 tanks, and m+ tank shortage is solved.

The common way to find a tank spot in guilds is to dps there first lmao.

I think that we all see some AI version of tanks and healers down the line. Maybe based off of a timer, after ten minutes you get the AI guy who paths and we follow.

That is how you measure dps… the issue you have is its readily apparent when a dps is being carried while its tougher to spot a healer since in most cases dps can adapt to a weak healer with personal cds

How does that fit into m+?

You cant just add a 6th party member.

And their are too many variables for m+ that a bot tank just wont do.
