I sent 4 Gold (dont remember the exact amount) to an alt. the mail subject line was “tips” if that helps. When I got on today to open the mail it had no attachments. i tried doing a mail recover thing but it said since it had been opened it cant do anything. The gold is not with the char who sent it either. Classic - Defias pillager if that’s important.

Then it has likely been opened by whoever you sent it to and it’s gone.
No no, i sent it to MYSELF but the mail had no gold attached when it arrived.
Just to ensure a few things: Do you have any add-ons? If so, are one of them an auto take when you open the mail? Or at button to do such.
i do have addons but none that do anything like that. I’m also 100% positive that the money was not collected as the character has like a handful of silver at most.
The mail went from your Warlock to your Mage, Velltharah?

Yes that is correct
From what I can see you didn’t have anything attached to that mail. Your Warlock had 5 gold before sending the mail and 5 gold after.
It hovers around that for awhile, fluctuating around a buy/sell on the Auction House some time today and currently less than a gold, though you have some AH mail still to pick up.
The only other mail I see going to that character was about 8-9 hours later, some bags and a wand.

Well dang I guess I never actually attached it. and then spent it all in the ah without realizing. big dumb.
