This is an issue with Heroic gear that dropped in this week’s Time Walking event. I received a level 610 heroic ring, Band of Abyssal Lord. I attempted to add a gem socket to the ring using a Magnificent Jeweler Setting. When I attempt to add the gem setting, I receive an error message stating, “That item cannot be modified.” I am guessing the bug exists because the loot came from a Time Walking raid in the Burning Crusade era, even though loot is now current as of War Within.
I can confirm I am having the same issue of being unable to apply a Magnificent Jeweler Setting to a Black Temple timewalking ring.
Here is a follow-up post to reference bug forum posts noting that the Magnificent Jeweler Setting is not working on all jewelry (rings and necks) obtained from Timewalking.
I am also having this issue with a hero level Band of the Ranger-General from Timewalking quest reward. Cannot apply Magnificent Jeweler’s Setting to it.
Amazing we had this same bug in DF across multiple seasons and once again it is back for the new expansion.
It says you can attach , two, to a neck or ring, but you can only do one it seems
No, you can add 2 sockets to any TWW neck and/or ring. But Time-Walking Raid gear, even though it is TWW item-level seems to have been omitted by mistake. The neck and the ring in finger slot-1 both already have a socket and it’s allowing me to add a 2nd socket to either one of them, but not the Time-Walking ring.
Anyway, another bump because when I use the Magnificent Jeweler’s Setting, it’s only allowing me to add a socket to the Neck and Ring I got from TWW content, but the Band of the Ranger General, which is from Time-Walking but is clearly Heroic 4/6, cannot be selected to add a socket.
I have gotten a necklace from the new raids and it still will not let me add the sockets, and my Pali is a JC… what gives?
