It’s poor game design to have players feel buyer’s remorse that quickly.
Because these items are level 25, will be useless in a month, and there’s PLENTY of bad items out there too, and items that are made redundant, and any number of things.
OP isn’t posing a reasonable point, they have buyer’s remorse and are here to complain because they feel cheated out of something because Blizzard allowed the plebs to have access to THEIR hard earned item (if it even was hard earned).
It was still over paying.
Please refer to my first reply to Dellesta.
Maybe next time don’t spend all your gold on a random blue boe? I feel zero sympathy for you.
Does the existence of the buffed Frayed Chestnut Mantle change your mind? Probably not, because you’re not personally slighted by that. Absolutely a personal self serving post.
Yea I don’t care. This is just a rage post. You did no introspection. You just saw a thing happen and felt bad and came here to complain.
I think in general the point of Season of Discovery is that you can’t presume to know everything- what is BiS from one week or phase to the next.
It would be impossible, with the pace of changes and weekly updates, to validate people’s investment based expectations.
Unless you just don’t want such rapid changes-- I on the other hand think it keeps things interesting.
“Maybe next time don’t spend all your gold on a random blue boe?” “a drastically better item that is significantly cheaper to make…a BiS caster item that is only obtained as a rare world drop similar to how every other item proficiency class has.” I hope you’re able to read previous responses in threads like these a bit more effectively to clear any misunderstandings you may have in the future. It surprises me since you clearly have quite the thread history.
There is a quest reward blue from BFD that is literally -3 int +2 stam, and otherwise the exact same as Magician’s Mantle for Horde players. You are severally overstating the issue because YOU ARE PERSONALLY INVESTED.
So you agree with me, but wants me to feel bad for playing the game and having issues with the game development of it?
No I don’t agree with you. I think you are making a big deal out of nothing because you personally are upset you spent money on a boe blue that isn’t all that much better than an easily accessible alternative, and now you feel buyer’s remorse.
I think the change is good. I think it’s a good thing that we have more access to a wider range of options.
There are also super rare boe blues out there worth next to nothing, or that have terrible stats. This is season of discovery, you knew from the start they could be adding and updating new items.
If you are Horde and you spent money on Magician’s Mantle and you’re complaining now about Invoker’s you’re a fool. If you are Alliance and complaining, well now the access to items is more balanced between the factions and you should just deal.
No they don’t.
I am posting a complaint about poor game design that I wish to be rectified. If you think I have buyer’s guilt, amazing. A situation with a BoE BiS being overruled mid-phase has never happened. It’s good to introduce easy to acquire pre-raid/starter high level gear from my MMORPG gaming experience. Invoker’s Belt & Mantle are too strong for what they’re worth. I agree that it’s good to have a wider range of options, but for those added options to be easily obtainable BiS is poor game design.
It’s only 1 SP above magician’s mantle like lets calm down
Yes, that is the problem. I appreciate your concern for my temper.
crit rng has a bigger impact on your spell damage/healing than 1 spellpower does. It does not matter.
Situationally, yes. Through several trials, no.
Except they added them because next to nothing has +spell power on it this early. And they few things you can find, are tiny numbers. And I’m sure you’re aware being a caster sucks more this early.
They did it for casters. Not to ruin this shoulders place in the (temporary, level 25) hierarchy.
No, you’re mad that you spent a lot of gold on an item that just got devalued. That’s not the same thing. I for one think the addition of the mantle is a great game design and a welcome change. I want there to be more caster item options and availability for gear.
I don’t think it, I know it.
Well that’s just the worst kind of statement. There’s plenty of examples of items, talents, skills, set bonuses, etc being changed mid content cycle throughout all of wow’s history. That is the nature of these things. You are trying to make a distinction because you feel like you are harmed. But this is purely an emotional reaction and an attempt to justify it.
These things are pretty basic. I would argue that Magician’s Mantle is too rare for what little it offers.
You can literally get a near identical shoulder from the raid quest on Horde side. This is just someone that spent gold and is now mad.
“…because next to nothing has +spell power on it this early” Yes. I agree with you that is fine. However, my point is that it should not be BiS.
