Mage Tower

My statements are not opinions, they are facts.

I’m stating facts too. Just scroll up.

Hush now baby don’t cry.

Walking out of this thread now and am going to polish my Mage tower staff some more.

Ok, have fun.

I agree, I wasn’t able to get ANY of them done because so many of them pretty much required certain legendaries and RNGesus hated me when it came to getting Legendaries. Even when I finally got the ones needed on my paladin (who I wanted the protection paladin one the most) the cheap as **** knockback mechanic of the protection paladin challenge cost me thousands of gold. I seriously hate boss encounters that rely on a cheap “knock you off a platform and instantly kill you” mechanic to create a challenge.

(IMO) I think this is something that should comeback as a time walking experience for Legion… Because it was a really big part of the experience in Legion Mastery over your chosen Class Spec…

However I’m not sure how they would balance it, if they keep increasing and changing the Classes every expansion, even with some mechanics that one shot you the Mage Tower Challenge would become or either too easy or to hard to be completed.
The Training Grounds is prof of this, as some of the challenges are no longer possible to complete for a few of Classes because of how much change we had over each expansion since MoP.

Unless they create a system divides Classes by Expansion like they did professions… where you retain that type of Class play style and it becomes more of an option if you want to try out the new Class abilities on the Next new expansion. I know some players would like to retain they Legion play style with their weapon abilities, I know I would have never move my Warlock away for his Shadow Meta Demonology in MoP! lol

Summary of Comment

To sum it up I think it should be added as a Time Walking Experience for Legion, it was really good endgame solo content, BUT I have no idea how Blizz could pull it of with how the scaling works in WoW right now. :man_shrugging:t2:

I’d be very down for a 460 Azerite headpiece with class unique Azerite traits via a Mage tower challenge or even a legendary-esque questline.

Even better if it scales with the rest of the raid tiers.

What if others feel like your comment is ignorant?

The Mage Tower couldn’t come back, because it was balanced around Legion abilities. Which are now different/removed/whatever.

They’d have to constantly rebalance it. Old content is not worth that. I’d rather them work on new content.

A very very very very small amount of mog options tied to an expansion is not bad. Sucks for anyone that missed it. I missed MoP ones.

They could work around that if they wanted to i think.

Work around what? And how? By redesigning the Mage Tower every time there is a new expansion/class balancing patch/update?

By adding it back?

An Illusion, what are you hiding?

If you actually look at other websites and social media, wow has lost subs because of not enough of this stuff, not the other way around. You had time, you missed out. Cosmetic time limited stuff like this is good for the game.

But my point is they can’t simply add the Mage Tower back without having to constantly rebalance it. As it was originally designed for Legion specs with an artifiact weapon. Which are quite different now for some specs.

why would they take it away to begin with? they can rebalance it easily.

“Easily”? It wouldn’t be “easily”. It would be “continuously”.

Old content is not worth that much constant work.

I love the limited-time stuff. It makes my Challenge Fury appearance feel cool to have.

You can get something that’s limited-time by playing the game when they bring back something like this.

If blizzard has shown us anything in the past and present, balancing is NOT their strong suit.
